and me in Service Dress... heh
not too late to get a kilt mate........
I'd need a different SD jacket as well... ![]()
only an early bd.... which i believe you already have, even though its badged as south staffs.......gagde and ranj always rag you for the very red stitching on it, maybe nows the excuse to remove and re-do it. ????
No... you misunderstand me... my SD isn't scottish pattern. ![]()
Scottish jackets have the curved edge no?
If you all looked like that I'd be well chuffed!
I think nige means that if you can rummage up a kilt you already have a BD blouse (or three) you coudl debadge

I am nearly there but it will have to be a No.4 not an SMLE.
Can anyone help with how the tapes for the gas cape are arranged. I have photos but can't work out how the wrap round and thread through the webbing.

I dont have a gas cape but might get some dark green similar sort waxy cloth to roll up and tie on top of the small pack.
Ramsay coudl you describe the type of material yours is so i can look for some.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
i will be going for the hard fighting look, no gas mask, no gas cape. open collar, maybe even without webbing, just a rifle.
I'm missing the gas cape, and it'll have to be the No.4 ,not going to get the SMLE done in time ,but otherwise I'm pretty well there .And I can smoke a fag.

These are pictures of my attempt so far.
@ Gadge the repro Gas Cape is thin green waxed cotton(? ) with white woven tapes. It is like Barbour jacket material but thinner.

Nige do you have a link to that group, looks like they are not bothering with peas green webbing.

i think its on yiths thread, ( i didnt want to hi-jack it) if not they are on www.ww2reenacting.co.uk
ramsey, that looks very good

Yeah, the webbing in those pics doesn't look that pea-green, but it could be the lighting.

Gadge, just had another look. The first pic on the thread of the guy relaxing has better light and shows it's definitely pea-green webbing.
