Hello all.

Just wondering if I a wooden stocked TM M3 shotgun (Like this excellent project) would be an acceptable weapon for the PBI?

I'm not sure if the Staffs were issued with any type of shotgun, but i don't think it's inconcievable that there would be no shotguns out there?

Reason for asking is i'd like to pick up a shotty for my next airsoft purchase anyway, so if i can use a wooden stocked M3 it would be great.
I know that the Thompsons on RSOV are really good value (especially with wood kit), but I want to try something other than an AEG airsofting wise.

Thanks

Jim

Shotguns weren't really used by the British Army at all in WW2 I'm afraid.

If you want to try something other than an AEG then its got to be a No4 really to fit in with PBI...

Though we allow look-a-like with any wood stocked bolt action rifle (ideally without a scope)

:(

Thanks for the quick reply :)

Shame about that but it does mean i don't really have an excuse not to get a number four.

Allthough you allow any wooden stock rifle it would be good to get somehting which at least resembles a SMLE.

I'll have a look around for conversions.
So far ive found people talking about converting the Denix replica or using real steel parts (non load bearing obviously) and building them around a spring rifle.

Thanks

Jim

Yes that's all possible... :)

Glad to be of help.

I must admin it is a shame about the lack of shotguns as I wouldn't have minded one myself... but if they didn't use them, then what can you do? lol :)

Heh instead I have enough fun getting new bits of kit for different impressions... Which is actually more fun than just buying guns!

Against the Geneva convention to use them, except for the against the Japs, who weren't covered by it! Shotguns were used by the Allied forces for 'foliage/shrub clearance' but not by the Brits.

Against the convention!

I never knew that. I'm rather shocked by that actually.

Especially when you consider that flamethrowers were used extensively by all sides... !

And Gas was still an option...

I think its becasue its not considered lethal enough to be humane.

Mad eh?

When you consider the m16 currently fires a round that would be deemed 'unsuitable' for hunting deer with...
