Okay... I'm able to airsoft on Sunday 25th Feb...
So far I've looked around and have found LFW and Unreal CQB have open days.
At the moment I fancy trying out Unreal, but I've never been.
Has anyone been there and what is the general opinion?
If its crap, please say why! ![]()
Ok I'm 75% game for this as well, where is Unreal ? Could do LFW but been there before .
Yep just found out it's Stoke .......long way to go . ![]()
Mind you closer than IED probably .
Checked out their website (crap compared ot ours) , anyone else getting bored with being told "this is as real as it gets ?" GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY
Join the feckin army/TA if you want to really get real
If anyone ever starts putting that in a CiA event , shoot me .
*rant mode off*
Urban site looks "ok" the woodland is well paintbally
Interested to hear if it's worth the trip , might be worth it "in kit" as we could encourage some new converts to 1944 .
About 1 hr 10mins for me, so not so bad. It is on the wrong side of the peak though!
Heh... its run by ex-para's aparently.
I think I'll check with them before turning up in a maroon beret... I got more than dirty looks from paddy at LFW when I put it on there!

Aren't they all ! Thats partly why I love F&O - 100% Walt owned .. shit just remembered Majors ex airborne -- hmmm proves a point I suppose.
Things are a lot more relaxed at F&O... thats for sure.
SteveG came up to me last time I was there and told me I looked the dogs bollocks in my new airborne kit... made me a very happy chap!
Went to LFW the day after to have Paddy complaining about me not earning the beret...
Guess where I'd rather go now!
I'm kinda looking forward to horde of airborne brits going to LFU on sunday... he'll be there... and I suggest we tell him to go screw himself... lol.
I can see why people get upset with the cap badge thing, but portraying WWII paras etc I reckon is different, because no one would believe you are pretending to have served with them unless you were in your 90's
My little mob have gone of LFW in favour of IED for now . The open days got too fraught, however the last Milsim was ok , if a little disorganised.
Someone needs to push Gucci to get a bigger and or urban site.
Yes agreed with you there... anyway I don't even do Para's! I do Glider landing troops ffs! Whats more I'm trying to do it right!
Gucci is interested in urban sites... he heard that Phoenix was going to set one up in Matlock.
He's under the impression that they may have pulled out. If this is the case then he'd love to have a go at running that site himself... I told him to ask CW about it.
The other thing I have heard is that Gucci might be heading up to Edinburgh in the summer to live and may be selling F&O... keep that one schtumm!
I just asked Gucci about the site...
There CQB site is a small industrial unit. I think they can host about 30-40 players max. It's ment to be quite intense? I haven't been. Negative point was the games were a bit loose (some very gay-lol) but you'll never know till ya try eh!

Downer ! Be a shame to loose him ( will keep that one uber stumm ). Mind you , I'd appreciate if you could express an interest on behalf of me aquiring the site depending on price etc.
Back to Unreal , perhaps see if we can all make it for the 25th ?, be a joy if Steve could come as well , I feel we're loosing touch .
We could also post out openely to see how many other regulars want to come ? Invasion by WWII !
Okay... sounds good to me...
I'd like to have Dave's input first as I suspect he may have been....
Paddy needs to do some more reseacrh into his own regiment and traditions then.
Nobody *earned* the beret you got it by default for being in an airborne unit, even the cooks, there was no special training other than sitting down in a glider.
para wings.... they were earnt,
I bloody hate it when people get territorial about bits of history, if itr was modern day para wings and beret, then yes, nowadays paras have a crap hat til the y compleyte phase one training... bnut bakc then not the case, if hes that bloody incences he should go read a book and check his history.

I had quite a long chat with one of the guys who goes there... interesting place...

I will be at Phoenix Urban on the 25th - TP training + members day.
I haven't been to Unreal Urban - I know Chris White pretty well (GuzziHero) who played a lot at Phoenix Urban (and did a Vietnam game at F&O). He lives in Stoke and so has made Unreal his home - I think he does marshalling there now. Ah yes, and he valiantly tried to stop ASCUK banning Unreal. But anyways, CQB isn't my thing so I doubt I would go there.
But accounts of the site vary - you might ask Jay Slayden as he has been (and I don't think will be going back in a hurry!)
BTW was Paddy one of those guys in DPM cooking up rat packs?
Now then, thinking off the top of my head - what about if I could arrange for you to come to PU on the 25th? There will be Team Phoenix, the Youth team, Phoenix members and Team Chimera (do you know Andy who leads TC? - he is ex German WW2 re-enactor, current mediaeval re-enacting, WW2 militaria dealer and had a stand at the last two shows and got Heb all her kit). Bugger, I'm rambling. You could do some Arnhem prep work then some opfor and a bit of a game?

On a tangent, what waqs unreal banned of ascuk for.
I know phoenix are stil banned but wasnt aware they were

LOL - gossip!! One of the youths that play there rubbed one of the admins up the wrong way (I think it was Beaker) with some sort of horseplay that when written looked like a veiled threat of a DoS. This was sometime after the first big DoS when ASCUK was crashing all over the place and taken offline. Despite Guzzi's protestations that the player had nothing officially to do with Unreal, but a player that happens to play at Unreal, Beaker threw a wobbly and chucked them off.
Nearly happened to Phoenix too - one of the youths somehow or other called Beaker a Jew (yes, took me by surprise too but I gather from my kids it was a popular friendly jibe last year!!) and that was nearly that! However, it took Grogan to finally tip it over the edge with the gayness of the 'contributions' debacle - Grogan told 'em to shove it and inevitably Phoenix got switched off!

I hate to bitch but IMHO Beaker is so far up his own arse you can't even see his heels any more ( I know you know him Yith, but the bloke is really a feckin little Hitler, too much power's gone to his head )
Anyway, the conversation Yith had at unreal doesn't look overly promising , but an offer to go to PU on the 25th sounds excellent, perhaps we could do a scenario meeting whilst they're training and then a bit of play later. We should be easy to ignore dressed in WWII stuff.
Nowt wrong with bitching!
Off topic, but did the UCAP Bunkers thing get your brain whirring? He's even offered it to us to hold an event there ![]()

Yes indeed , & I've had dealings with Cracking Day before over TA2, he's a good chap . fell out with Ian Warmerling in the end so not seen him for a while .
Trouble is it's bloody miles away .
