Maybe worth suggesting tactfully to the germans to have a generic german group wiht a section of ss, heer, fj and a single panzer crew.
More realistic than platoons of each and gives new players somewhee to go if they are looking for a 'team'

Four groups, then people can pick and choose as they wish.
If Rhys does decide to let the Doughboys drop, then I'm going to wade in, rebrand the fucker and just say how it's going to be. No restrictions, no badging, just a group for Americans with the aim of getting it all together for TEHL so that people can just know one-another and fight together on the day.

Conversley, given the numbers of players who portray the "dark side", why should they all be lumped in together?
If thats the case, then the I suggest that we dump all the Allies into one section as well. Hell, there are more people with Falschy loadouts alone than Russians, and a damn sight more SS than there are Brits.
So that would make the headings "Axis" and "Allies".

Although were actually geting things *done* in the brit contingent, the point about splitting off from the US was to encourage the fact their were no brits at the time.
I think the key here is that US and US airborne in particular tends to attract pleeyrs who are not really that interested in being in teams, i have to no idea whty though.

Speirs rocking up in Yank kit just to show off at Arnhem is a perfect example.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there.
If i ran a US group i'd call it 'band of brothers', do two loadouts 101st as primary with an option of 29th inf/rangers.
zero fucking about.
If you dont want to do it, dont play in the group, prob for the best as odds are your not a team player anyway if you cant sacrifice a fucking badge to be part of a squad what hope have you of contributing to a game plan that might require you to play a backseat?
Par tof me feels average age is a factor too.
US seems to attrace mid twenties.
Axis mid 30s+
Brits 30s.
could be cos of the cost of kit, US kit is quite cheap, german kit is getting there, brit kit is still costly.

Right, Rhys has just PMd me to say he and Webby are going to run it by fiat and he's 99% sure it's going to go ahead with TEHL as a good aim-for point by my suggestion.

BTW after all the crap with SH pre this event , he didn't really do anything with the SS lads other than tart about for photos . Not sure how effective Webby was either , got the feeling Josh steamrollered over him - is this fair or did I hear wrong ?

Me too now. I'm happy to take it up if no-one else is willing but would rather see it come from them.
I don't like Josh, I just think he's a bit of a knob. Not sure how effective he is as a leader, but I just think he's a bit........over-excitable.....
yup... Webby was completely steamrollered by Josh.
This is probably why we didn't win...
But then Webby didn't exactly do much as far as team leadership went even before Josh took over... He didn't hand me a map until late in the game and never told me what to do once. Josh told me what to do a few times though.
Josh seemed like a nice guy, enthusiastic, but yes over-excitable definitely sums it up.
In general I left the Yanks to their power struggle and did my own thing unless asked...
Mind you Josh did order us to charge down the centre of the initial attack... suffice to say as we were supposed to be commandos I thought this was bollocks and did my own thing....
