I had the url linking people to this forum removed by mods.
I'e pointed out we've been linking people for year and our sig files carry the URL and asked why this is a problem now

To be honest I'm as surprised as you that they haven't noticed before!
But at least it was a polite and well reasoned point Jimbo made so I have no complaint at all with his request.
Indeed, to turn it on it's head, he did offer a 'site forum' which might warrant 10 seconds thought.
But dont you think its interesting they feel they are competing for users?
Personally I dont care if we had more or less traffic than them as long as every body inot wwii knows were here.
If they are that concerned about haivng users you think they'd try
1 ) not ridiculing every other new poster
2 ) being a little more inclusive and non beinbg so ban happy
3) stop poinitng out in every other post its a private not a publci forum and they dont agree with freedom of speech.
I like jimbo i've gamed with him once or twice i just thought it was interesting that they seem worried about losing players to us

Funny that the WW2 section is basically a re-direct to our site now, languishing unused and yet no admin has wondered when all the posters have gone!
To be fair though, we couldn't have taken off so quickly at the beginning without the ASCUK forum, so I do thank them for that. And actually still a lot of click-thoughs to our forum/site still come from ASCUK, so keep those links in the sigs!
