Sorry for leaping in to take advantage of the postponement of Oosterbeek.
As you know you pipped us at the post for a September date and the only date we could muster between the four of us was the August bank holiday weekend. Not ideal in many ways, so a bit of a muggins choice. It was rapidly looking like we might have to cancel Jedburgh but once September was free we could switch back to plan A and now we just hope more players will be available. Time will tell.
It does feel a bit like 'dead men's shoes', well perhaps putting on someone else's warm slippers but meh, an opportunity had to be seized!

Totally agree , but we were stuck with the availablility of all four of us.
It wasn't completely daft though - Husky was the bank holiday weekend last year so there was hope. Anyhoo, should have a much better chance with September. Silver linings and all that!

I'd be much happier if we put on a more united public face though rather than rowing in public so much about several things lately... it creating a visible 'tension' that is not going to do anyone any favours.

No danger of that ( PBI vs CIA) IMHO , we're just different parts of the same family. A bit of debate once in a while is healthy , as we seem to know when to stop it blowing into full blown war !
No agreed but I was acutely aware that some of the threads did look as if we were always opposed, and as with any good organisation, its healthy to critically assess each others views or downright have a cleairng the air blow out - but not in front of the rank and file

LOL, Rich mentioned majority PBI backing for low power rifles not me! And you supported 328fps max for all guns.

plus my entire argument was that Yith's argument was flawed in so many ways.
Somehow Yith and Nige brought danger and injury into it and turned anti-Tanaka and it mightily pissed off K98 users I can tell you, having fielded PMs, emails and phone calls subsequently.
An ill advised thread really especially following a successful event when people were specifically asked to bring rifles if they could and turned out to be - I think - the most rifles EVER seen at a WW2 game to date. And event where there was no one squeak of the more usual Thompson moaning!
Great that Rich worked so well with a sub 350fps rifle - exactly as I had asked players to consider in my pre-game briefings!

And i quite like my number 4 as it is ehen it works but on th ewhole i feel that 328 acorss the board was fine.
A real sniper doesnt get kills because his rifle fires twice as far he gets them cos its accurised and his field craft allows him to get in a good vantage point.
Point being a no4 enfield and a no4 enfield T and a bren will both kill at over 1k, the difference being its easier to hit with the T scope.

I always liked petes idea of turning the hops of smgs and having everyhting at 328... hey presto your thompson no longer has the range of your tanaka and they are both around 350.

Which goes to show this is nothing to do with authenticity or sniper shit - just airsoft safety rules, which was my point.
Yeah but i think Rich also has a point that its a bit crap that everyone had a pistol which *looks* wrong as much as everyone having an mp44.
It would be interesting to see how a 328 across the board battle would go that relied on the ammo limits to constrain gameplay and still encompassed a lot of rifles... cant see either of us risking that one though.
Its something evo and i have deabted for ages.
We were thinking an amazing invention woudl be a rifle with a default setting (gas regulated ) of 328fps, by holding in a button on the stock you could allow the cylinder to hold more gas for hi power shots.
So snap shots and close up you'd be on low power but for shots you had to think about you coudl crank it up but you woudlnt have to remeber to reset it lower as taking you hand off releases the valve.

Wladek PMd me to say he couldn't get their because their designated driver is busy. 
Can't they cadge a lift with someone? It's why I started the lift thread..... Christ, one of them could learn to drive by the end of Sept!
