Yeah, i'm bored - so i had a bit of a play on an audio mixing program, and came up with a half-reasonable track of combat at extended ranges (i.e. background noise) - and yes, the MG's/rifles/SMG's are all Brit and German. Lots of other stuff on there as well - Mortars, AT weapons, etc etc
Now, how does this tie up with Airsoft? Atmosphere. Those who can remember the Sennybridge event from 4 or 5 years ago will remember that they played "the sound of war" (or, as I prefer to call it, "Now thats what I call gunfire!") over the PA system - and it added a lot of atmosphere when you were fighting through the village. Of course, PU doesnt have a PA system, but I do have several battery powered CD players that could be used for the purpose (i can hide em in wooden ammo boxes). Daft idea or what?
Anyone wants a 20 second snippet of them, PM me your email addy.

Not a bad idea at all - we used it at F&O/BotB!

Good idea,
I'm currently building a "sound box" for events, consisting of a car CD player, a car battery and several speakers all fitted insde a wooden box.
My plan was to set off the old german music on high volume from ontop of the Hotel at Arnhem , but could play battle noises as well.
It should be loud, waterproof and with a car battery last all day .
Good idea. I'm pretty sure I've got all the same items sitting in the garage, and as you say, with a car battery it'll last a decent amount of time.

My thought was you'll get a lot louder Wattage output , and the car battery will long outlast any cell battery .
Will post some pics when done.
A mix of 1940s radio programmes, distant shellfire and the odd burst of mg fire would be great.
