I still have to mentally block myself form putting central creases in trousers and sleeve creases in shirts when ironing :)

 I'm the only person I was the only person in our group that went to pontins, force to sleep on the sofa bed of hell that put my back out, but still put hospital corners on it every night  the others in our group just threw the sheets on, but no not me  che complained at me for it as well

And 8 years  I was brought up on hospital corners, can still do a lovely bed pack with the stripe spot on the middle and all folded in

BED BLOCKS

mine got launched out of the 3rd story window by the troop sergant through most of my basic training

mind you so did 90% of the guys, its just to break you mentally,

you spend 3-4 hours getting it right, then 4 seconds fall to earth destroys it, and the troop staff are actually LAUGHING as they see how far they can chuck our bedding.

then fall the troop in outside, and march round the barrack block OVER the bedding

i can laugh now, but then i wanted to kick the TW*TS in the throat

I actually made my bed first night I got to turkey last week, and put hospital corners on it. Sad I know, but it was just instinctive.

Dont remind me about bedblocks either porta. them memories are well buried. Dont force me to re-live them. :|

My Two Cents.....

yes but when the staff realize , they come in in the night, and trash the beds anyway

we got away with sleeping on the floor a night or two, but they soon clocked it, and the bed blocks went flying again.

i even saw a matress, go through the window, becasuse it was stained

Yep & you thought they were all trained killers rather than retiring people obsessed with folding blankets in a correct method . I'd love ot see how they'd get on with a duvet :raspberry:

God you're not allowed duvets til you get to battlalion :)

Like i always say to sprogs who want to join up:

' Do you really *really* really like cleaning things over and over again and laundry'

Cos you'll see more of that than firearms in the modern army.

join the army, see the world and clean it.
