Without wanting to peak too soon, (apparently a common problem in men of a certain age!) I'm definately at a 7+
Marshalling tomorrow in my Progressive Uniform from the superior Soviet State, just to make sure it's all working properly in the cold

I'd say i'm at a 7 already, as others have said it seems to have been a looooooong time without a WW2 event! Once the kit is all checked and made ready, i'll be up to an 8.5

I'll bring my jackboots just in case and a German helmet that George can use even if we have to bash it down on his head to fit :giggle:

Oh after standing for 2 hours in the cold watching the boy play football that has upped the excitement meter the thought of Bashing a lid on Georgeo`s head

Just annexed the conservatory from the Frau now have it full of WW2 German boxes containing kit. Running at a 7 at the moment just knowing it is going to build as time goes by- "Sounds like a song title" :?: :?: :?:

Thank you, and i reckon bashing this helmet on might help me get rid of some of these silly Law cases i've had to learn :x

Excitment on about 5.. Schools cut that down. BUT once the Kit comes out, it should shoot up :happyclap:

I have sorted out my food, packed clothes and sleeping gear, sorted out uniform, got my resoled boots back from the cobblers and just put the site address into the Satnav. I've still got to do the boring Airsofty sorting out the guns/glasses/pyros/BBs thing. Call it a 5 for now.

Cheers

Fate has put a big work job on top of moving house in the middle of all this, so I'm at a steady 5.

Not so much excitement as relief at having got fully kitted out just in time :happyclap:

The initial idea was that we FJR2 would go as Russian to celebrate Josh's Birthday. I was too late booking and could only get a place as Heer.

Since then, it has been a case of beg, buy, borrow and steal (as in got a few things for a bargain) most of a Heer loadout. Unfortunately I use brown leather on my FJ kit, so just about everything needed to be sourced. Strange that even allowing 8 weeks, I only yesterday picked up the last few bits (Stoneleigh) and even now the tunic is in the hands of the Ex for machine sewing of the Litzen. Nothing is ever easy:
1. I have so far received/borrowed and returned 6 helmets where they were all much smaller than advertised/thought. Finally got one yesterday officially marked as a 59, but actually nearer 62!
2. Little things like ultra short straps on a Gas mask tin that needed to be replaced.
3. Decided to use the same awards etc on this tunic as I have with FJR2...then realised that I shouldn't have fitted the oostfront ribbon :)
4. My MP40 was chronoing at 350, so needed to change the spring . Managed to break (and fix) the little pin on the selector lever and also decided to finally chop out the fuse holder, so a 20 minute job took an afternoon

But I have also had a lot of great service and help from mates and retailers.

More importantly, it gave me something to do in January :good:

RETIRED, thanks for some truly memorable times and great people
