In the spirit of pushing the envelope of WW2 airsoft beyond just being an open day skirmish in dressy-up, the two opposing sides at Sevastopol will have roles that are more than just attacking or defending.

For the Soviet contingent this means adding more of a "living history" element into the mix. You may be ordered to stand sentry, form a wiring party or work on constructing and repairing defences. Closer to the time I will ask for volunteers to work as radio operators, runners, adjutants or field kitchen. Political officers will ensure that each of you has the appropriate patriotic zeal needed to crush the gitlerite hordes. Cowardice, malingering and other forms of counter-revolutionary behaviour will be met with "special treatment".

Please bear all this in mind when you book. If you just want to spend the day wandering around looking for trigger time then this event ain't for you.

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

When are you going to send me those chords? You're not the only one who wants an excuse to hang around at the back like a malingering coward you know.

I suppose I should really just get over my inherent laziness and work it out for myself.

I have hunted for it for you, I just cannot remember where I found it.... I will hunt with earnest now as I have a deadline :D

I have practiced my fire raising technique since we tried to do this last time. I think the main ingrediant is a good dollop of imflammable substance first rather than trying to light a pile of damp twigs with a lighter.... The central planning committee has allocated the established norms of combustible materials for this operation.

ah its a lovely tune. Just in case there are subversive elements that sabotage the people's orchestra, I'll bring my Red Army choir CD - lotsa tunes - Kalinka etc. Shame I never learned to play the balalaika.

That must have been my mistake before. Who needs a fire anyway, we are Russian :)

Yes quite true but imflammable is a typo that I was just having a bit of fun with, no offence intended
