I've often thought about mangling a mp40 into a ppsh. fixing the big outter barrel onto the mp40 and fitting it into a wood stock i've got lying around. however getting a drum mag to fit it and re-angeling the motor could be tricky

That's why the '?' was there, I dont remember if they are straight or curved but there is a stick mag. The '43 has a curve for sure. Age is a terrible thing, even fired a live Ppsh in Arizona last year with a stick mag but it's details elude me.

A quick Google and it would seem that they are curved. Introduced in '43 due to the troubles with loading the drum mag. It is a pain. I guess they will be the same as those used with the Ppsh43.

I would be up for it, but not for a while, I have enough bits of kit to be looking out for.

But bear in mind that apparently, until the Germans put in a replacement puppet regime and essentially made it another annexed country, the Royal Hungarian units were organised by religion, with battalions consisting of Jewish, Catholic, Eastern orthodox Christian and Islamic company’s. After the Nazi regime took over all the Jewish units took their kit and fought as part of the partisans wherever they were fighting, many of the other members of the Royal Hungarian Army did the same.

Hungarian kit was essentially a mix of Early war Russian and German kit, I will get a few pics scanned in when I have my main PC back online (it sucks using a P1 and a pay as you go mobile)

It is also worth noting that the Hungarian units had to be separated from German units, particularly SS on the front line by the Romanians.

As I said on the enemy at the gates training day thread I'd be up for a bit of Russian kit. It seems like everyone is by the looks of it. I might be easier to ask who isn't! Gun wise I'd love to have an SVT40 but I'd also consider a Ppsh-41 or even a Pps-43 as I'd have thought it would be possible to make one. Even if you don't do a particularly good job you can get away with it since they could be a bit rough anyway.

The box magazines on the pps43 & the Ppsh41 were actually different and not compatable despite using the same ammo & having the same capacity.

Sorry for the delay on the combined order, had an extremely busy week so far, negotiating a standard kit for a set price to include-: Galife trousers, gymnasterks tunic, pilotka hat, padded jacket, full set of webbing, and backpack. I need everyone who's interested to get their sizes together for the above kit, you'll be given a code word, you'll have to place your own order, to ensure it's all delivered to your own address, you will get a discount if you preface your order with the code word. I would seriously take a look at getting some enlisted man's boots as well,(Set 8b $40 or

OK here's the deal with the Russian uniform sets from "Front of Russia", you'll have to order your own gear and pay yourselves, this combined order thing is getting too complex for words, look for set 19E which I have listed below(part of an e-mail from Alexi, http://www.frontofrussia.com/index.html
You'll need to use the measuring chart here-: http://www.frontofrussia.com/size.html
This set will include everything that you could possibly need for both a summer uniform and a winter uniform, plus webbing and back pack, don't know why he's included the cigarettes, totally beyond me! This represents an absolute bargain for $212.

The set includes:

19E - Famous M1943 Soviet Red Army summer uniform set. It includes: M43 gimnasterka, M43 galife breeches, pilotka hat, waist belt. - $85+$20(s/h)

Padded jacket - $45+$20(s/h)

grenade pouch - $9+$2(s/h)

Canteen - $9+$3(s/h)

Back pack (Veshmieshok) - WW2 original pattern - $15+$4(s/h)

+ WW2 private's gloves

+ 2 extra white inner collars into each uniform set.

+ 4 packs of WW2 pattern cigarettes into each set.

--------------------------------------------------------

The total is $212 each set.

--------------------------------------------------------

The total for 5 sets is $212 x 5 = $1060

--------------------------------------------------------

Same here, I think I'll just go for the 19E uniform with the canteen, bandolier (which doesn't seem to be included in the current deal) & maybe the grenade bag. Plus I'll need some boots. I may end up getting a greatcoat if there is a game in winter, I think the padded jacket may be too warm for our weather.
I have to say I prefer the look of M35 uniform to the M43 but I guess we're more likely to have late war games so the M43 would fit better.

Ta in advance
