Would you guys like any wartime vehicles for TIMs game?
Hi all,
New to the forum, planning on heading down with a couple of friends the battle of TIM (one a regular to these events)
Been looking for this detail but cannot find it: is there a rule on using weapons from a different faction from the one you are dressed as and are playing on?
Detail: I will be in British Airborne gear, I have my own Sten and hi power; however would I be able to use a German weapon, namely an MG42, if for example the Sten broke down on the day. Could pretend it was a captured Jerry shooter
I know you guys do a swap/lending thing on here which is cool, but still curious about this option.
Cheers,
Tom

Gordon will confirm this but generally speaking you're not going to have a problem. It comes under the category of a 'looted' weapon and if your principle weapon goes down on the day then obviously it's more important to grab another and get back into the game.
MG42's are slightly different. They're a squad support weapon and are strictly limited to one per squad (with a two man crew). As such it'd be a bit of an upgrade if your Sten went down and you picked up a German machine gun; particularly if the British Airborne already had a Bren or B.A.R in the section.
So the MG42 might be a no no purely from the point of view of how the squads are organised. Generally though if your British gun packed it in in a British squad, but you had a German rifle or SMG in the car as a spare... nae hassles.

Thanks Allenby for the quick and informative reply

Just a quick one regards uniform choices.
Will there be guidelines for each of the booking options? Just that being on a health kick has meant none of my uniforms fit anymore so have to think about buying stuff which I cant really afford
Be good to know if there is some wiggle room somewhere like maybe British windproof smock instead of having to have Denison etc.
Ta very muchly.

Help!!
To all players that have & are going to book on for this game I'm in need of your help.
I have been making something for this game but so that everything went to plan I had to try my project out several times & all has gone to plan.
My predicament is I am using Delta force rackets (these are small whistling rockets that go bang) but I'v used what I had to test the prop out & my local firework shop has sold out until September so I am asking anyone attending the battle for Tim if you have a firework shop near you could you check them out to see if they have any Delta force rocket or something similar in stock (they need to be small & whistle when fired off) they cost between £6 & £8 for a pack of 10 which I would reimburse anyone who can get them.
Would appreciate anyone's help with this.
See ya
Peter.
I'm trying to convince a mate to join the fun.
Nearly have him hooked but we can only really make Friday night OR Saturday night - if you had to choose which would you go for?

Thought I would ask again as this may have been missed the first time?

Eversley doesn`t suit vehicle movement there is only one track and the way the game is being played out there is no scope for movement of troops by vehicles. You are most welcome to turn up in a WW2 vehicle i expect you would have a lot of interest and photo opportunity but unfortunately the site doesn`t lend itself to vehicles
I'm going to be lending a friend a gun - (he only owns deactivated real ones LOL)
The choices are my Thompson or my wooden m14
If I buy some lo caps for the m14 will that be ok for everyone (on semi obviously).
anyone ? I have just bought a second Thompson just in case but would rather Ryan uses the m14 as an m1...
No problem with the M14 as long as it is not Two Tone and you follow the
Assault Rifles (Garands G43 Stg44 and BAR)- 200rd Single shot No loading in the field only at CP.
thanks I will order some lo cap mags for it. its wood and he's not a cock so will be fine....

Ok thanks for letting me know, I did use one of my jeeps there about 5 years ago but I understand the site has changed a fair bit since then, ( the weasel doesn't need roads )I won't bring if we can use it though, thanks for the heads up
I can just imagine being hidden in some bushes then the Weasel ploughs though!

Hi guys,
I have a question regarding helmet cameras.
I was allowed to wear one at the Vierville game as it was quite discreet and with the scrim on my helmet it blended in fairly well.
Will we be allowed to wear them again? I'll be part of the Brit Para section so I can always put some more scrim onto my helmet to conceal it.
If not, what is the situation on Photographers/Videographers being allowed to film and shoot all the action on the day?
Thanks

As a general rule we don't allow helmet cameras, I've seen some hideous contraptions at games before and it ruins the look. I'm not saying yours will be that bad but it's why we are against them. There's no problem with anyone whipping out their phone or a proper camera to capture shots, down time or when you're out of action, as a general rule I think pics done in game rather than posed, always look better. I am unaware at the moment of any official photographer .
