Id just like to say thanks to EVERYONE for all the interest, and the commitment (booking holidays, offering vehicles and such things) all 8 MONTHS in advance. This looks like its going to be a real cracker, and my worries about no-one being interested when i booked the site were groundless.

yes a trench gun would be fine, there a period gun so no worries.
