yes blank firer

you can own em, but your not allowed to import them anymore, so no shops can sell them

you can buy them second hand, but there like rocking horse shite now, no one wants to sell em :(

i paid more than the new book price for mine, and it was second hand :!:

AFAIK the bit of the VCR act that relates to Blank firers isnt implemented until October? So you have a little leeway to import them. Be very careful as the law is very heavy even now on the type of BF that you can have. Front venting pistols are to all intent and purpose out, a no go. There are some front venting automatics [stens etc] that are legal. There is a thread here that may help.

There is much of use in the rest of that section on the types you can hold legally.

Worth a bit of time to read through.

Although that is true, The home office FSS(I think its them) wont aprove any blank firing pistols currently in production other than the glock 17, so although thoughly legal, nobody can get an import license for any, unles they just bring them in as a grey import.

The best thing to do is to hunt around the shops and see what you can get. Failing that a PFC 'Cap' gun might be a reasonable substitute.

Gliderrider posted about PFC model guns - plug fire cap model guns - currently freely available and actually very good fun. I've got two, and plan to get more. The only problem with them, as far as reenacting etc. is concerned, is that you need to collect the brass shells that hold the caps after they've been 'shot' and cycled - which makes running around with them a bit impractical - nevertheless, they are fun to fire - they go bang, flash and produce smoke just like the real steel versions and most of them are fully strippable - :D

Im not such a fan of the pistols for that exact reason, they make a nice replica though. The smg's can be good. place a beret or cap upside down a few feet away to collect your brass and as they fly out they collect themselves. It doesent take that long to figure out the charicteristics of your shells so you know where to put the collection hat, as it were.

Helmetsare especially good for this. OOps meant to put that in earlyer(Tip curtesy of baldrick)

So far I've only got a p38 - the shells fly out quite randomly - and a Mauser 712 - I'll try your idea with that - the shells don't travel anything like as far - :D
