Well in some cases it's prohibitively expensive to get items in OD3. For example, OD7 30rd Thompson mag pouches were $35 at a gun show, and OD3 ones were $150... I'm not THAT much of a freak about historical accuracy.

I'm tempted to buy the spare magazine bag from ATF and sell my 30rd Thompson pouch on eBay. Did the Marines use those?

It'd be great if they made a decent 20rd mag for the CYMA/TM Thompsons...

...whereas people are at least able to feel *some* connection with the Germans, I don't really think many people really have any empathy for the Japanese.

Probably because of the eyes problem

...

3 cell, 30rd USMC Mag pouches where produced in late WW2. But they where never issued in WW2.

I would go for a 5 cell 20rd pouch and just stick the 30rd mags inside. I think somewhere on this forum there
was a guide on how to mod 30rd mags to 20rd size.

Good thing you can wear goggles while playing airsoft :happyclap:

Going to an event tomorrow and plan to take many pictures, will keep you updated if possible.

Does anyone know where to get an authentic USGI watch that would have been worn in WWII?

Today.

Things wrong with my kit that you don't need to bother calling out :P :

- OD 7 canteen pouch requires replacement with another khaki one, still looking
- Green plastic canteen requires replacement with another stainless steel one
- Black .45 holster will get replaced with a tan leather one at some point

Yup!

Is the other chap in the pic walking away portraying armoured? Only marines wouldn't have used the Haversack!

The other guy just kind of does a World War II-ish impression. He uses kneepads, elbow pads, a three point sling, a CamelBak, etc.

At any rate it's nice to not be the only person using World War II stuff!

Around chrismas last year, I went to an indoor airsoft site in LA. I wore British battledress and a mk 2 helmet(along with the 37pat field gear and ammo boots), and it turned out everyone else was just wearing hoodies and using rental m4s!!!
