Then not really, it is a woolen great coat you want. That SOF one is (I think) an officer's 'item', and certainly less substantial than a big warm greatcoat which is what you see in BoB.*
Most people use post war French ones, but these are getting harder to find 'decent' sizes.
*edit: I am working form memory after only a single Earl Grey, so could be completely wrong.

That is the kind of overcoat you want.
The post war French greatcoat is very similar, usually a button change is all that is needed to give a close impression. If you want to be more correct then you need to attend to the shape of the half belt.

I have always wanted a Mackinaw, just because they are gorgeous. So stop tempting me.
