I've feldgrau kielhosen under the dot44 trousers.

Dot pattern is fine, in fact, I'll be wearing a mix of Dot and feldgrau at the Bryansk game myself. I've also recently acquired a bargain priced Richard Underwood Burred edge smock, which is screaming for its' first battle as well.

What I like about Dot pattern is that it's worn with no rank insignia, so, no more extra sewing and it's cheaper as well.

Im not even having eagle or shoulder boards on mine, i think it looks better without and loads of pics show it them missing off field uniforms.

Hey Gadge, great !!! the fact is, that if you portray a SS men, you have a lot of opportunities what to wear, it is not so hard like in the Heer or the "Fallies" (we german call them like this, your term would sound for every german like "Faschies" or "Faschos" I dont have to explain what would they think 8) :? ! The SS had so many items that where regular items it could be worn at the same time, that a SS unit will allwas look like a mix of everything. To start with "Erbsentarn" dot camo is a good idea, only the early years you would miss with this impression, "taking home austria", "protection of the czech republic", liberation of netherland, belgium and france and the Yugo- greek tour as well. The first few month of the russian adventure too, but from 1943 all...... I like the scarf too, looks fancy, should get one too..... but I wear a yellow one as US Captain in the Vietnam events...... (Hollywood in my mind..... )

Cheers

planetree smock and oak helmet cover are future aquisitions for earlier battles.
Only really went for dot 44 as i got a pair of trousers for a bargain price so thugh i ought to get a jacket as well :)

I'll rarley skirmish in this kit unfortunatley, its specifically for any future events that are themed as 'ss vs us' :)
