However I've not moved the image...
Instead, perhaps you'd like to look at doing a more WW2ey style for the forums?
I've put some stuff in place to make this easier...
I've duplicated the standard style template as botb. This can be found in the /public_html/php/phpBB2/templates directory on the server.
You'll find in there css files, images and some tpl files. These last ones are the snipets of html used to make the pages. Edit these files as you see fit...
You'll notice some stuff in curly brackets {}in the tpl files, I suggest leaving these as is. These bring values in from the forum application itself. Also there are some html comments like this:
<!-- BEGIN my_loop -->
This text will show up ten times
<!-- END my_loop -->
These are programatic thingies and shouldn't be changed.
To enable the template to be visible to yourself, go to your profile and select it as your "Board Style". You'll find three styles there "subSilver", the original style, "botb" my copy of subSilver which I suggest you edit and "Army" which was a style I downloaded but unfortunately looks a little too modern.
As long as you only edit stuff in the botb directory then the forums will be unaffected unless someone has that template selected.
Once we have a style we're happy with I can set it to being the default for the forum.

Even some basic changes to the css files might be nice ... though then we'd probably need new images then as well... anyway... something to play with...

Just set up a daily cron event to index the web site and forum for a google search. The web site has been under a weekly crawl since it was set up but from now on rankings should improve through forum activity - spin off is that linked sites will benefit too!
Nearly finished the new skin for the forum - a few icons to change (I've based it around the Army one Rich if you want to take a look).
Oh, web site has had an update too!

I've found a way to take quick backups of the database... I'll try and do it fairly regularly... it is a manual process.
That's great - everything in the public_html folder is backed up anyway, the db will be backed up remotely but as I don't have access to it I wouldn't trust it when disaster strikes and there is a restore!
