The woodscrew replacement sounds a good idea, but I was concerned about the strap causing a worse wobble where the metal collar on the stock fits onto the receiver. I've uploaded a pic of a fix that a guy in Hong Kong did to his, looks like it should work well.

By the way Zero, I'm coming down to Worthing on the 26th and I'd be very interested to see what your dark walnut stock looks like, as that's the colour I was thinking of using for mine.

I've just recieved my Kar 98 sling and I think I've got it fitted properly to the gun, judging by Guinness' pictures. Why is the gun slung on the right? It seems to force a left handed carry. I know I'm probably missing the point as usual, could some one please explain it to me?

Thank you!

I used a set of number and letter stamp/punches I picked p at Ace Hardware

As you can see those are 1/8in size, I'm lookingfor some lower case letters as well as a set in 1/16th size if I can find them

It is slung on the right so that the magazine goes across your back when it is slung over your shoulder in the correct "muzzle up" manner :)

finally got round to having a go at metalising my mp44 after 3 attempts finally got the effect i wanted by finger-rubbing humbrol silver into the metal after a vigorous polish as suggested by guinness. Also used some brown woodstain to slightly brown the metal afterwards.

took ages and now i have a blister on my finger,,,, :( still not too sure im totally happy with the result though.......?

probably but i think it will be overpowered for the tunnels... its hard to take a piccy of it because the silver paint rubs into the pores of the paint on the metal and gives a very nice effect.

Anyone looking for spare genuine AGM MP44 magazines? I've just ordered one from a Hong Kong company called sights4us on ebay. They are £15.99 each with free postage. The companys got a good feedback score. so hopefully it should turn up in a week or two.

I ordered SIX from dog green 1 - I think they are considerably less than your quoted price - Mine are primarily pouch fillers but will come in handy for modern games where 3000 rds are the norm...... Team Doomtrooper means business!!!!!

Well I finally got to go and pick up all the items today and couldn't get back to the house quick enough. Initial impressions on the MP44. Looks great even straight out of the box in my opinion, longer than I first expected. Was also very pleasently surprised about the weight. Quite a heavy little beastie, rekon it would give my deac K98 a run for it money in the weight department. Took 2 out of the boxes and niether seemed to have any stock wobble. Both seemed very sturdy which I was pleased about after intitial reports. Just got to have the bottle now to have a go at weathering it.

Have only ever fired spring airsoft and one GBB Glock before I didn't know what to expect when I loaded it and fired a couple of bursts. All I can say is I wouldn't want to be shot by one at close range. Don't know how this compares to other AEG's, haven't had a go with the MP40 but this thing just feells such good fun.

Will be taking mine and a couple more down to the Royal Gun Powder Mills re-enactment event at the weekend to see what re-enactors think of them up close. I think most will be very pleasently surprised :good: Great work AGM

My spare mag arrived yesterday after only seven days from Hong Kong. It is a genuine AGM mag complete with wind up key. I think it's pretty good value, after all you'd pay around £15 for a metal AK mag in the UK.

I picked up my downgraded 44 last Sunday and had a days skirmishing with it. After adjusting the hop up on the range, it performed very well, reasonable accuracy and good range. No stock wobble but I did wrap some black insulating tape around the stock pin which looked like it could fall out quite easily. I think the thread and nut solution will sort that out.

I sanded down the stock last night ready for the dark walnut stain, and did a bit of experimental buffing using some black coloured scratch remover for the car, that I had in the garage. Seems to work a treat, so tonight I'll get out the dremel and buffing pads, hopefully ending up with a "Guiness" style finished gun.

Just a quick comment on a couple of issues regarding the MP44. The batch that I got in, none of the items seemed to suffer from the stock wobble that earlier buyers had complained about. Also the newer items have all got a slightly different pin that holds the stock on. It now comes with a safety catch (bit hard to describe) that will prevent the pin from falling out. Seems AGM have learnt a few leasons from thier first run.

Roger that- It is actually a pretty good copy of a real MP44 stock pin BTW- if you look at RS MP44's on the deactivated guns site for instance, they all have those pins.
