My eagerly awaited AGM Mp40 arrived today and was a bit gutted when i tried it out as it doesnt seem to fire well at all  .

As i cannot contact the seller until after 7pm i thought id ask a few questions here as to what the dos and donts are with these guns as im totaly new to the Airsoft world and am a dumbass when it comes to these guns

Battery was supposed to be fully charged when sent so i loaded approx 20 of the included bbs(new in packet)into one of the mags and loaded it.Set the selector to single shot and away i went-Fired 5 or so shots ok then did the noise but nothing came out.Took out the mag and loose bbs just fell out-same thing happened when i tried it on auto :( .

Is there something i should have done first, something to do with the hopup(havent touched it)or maybe the battery doesnt have enough charge???

Also as there is a new battery in the gun i was advised not to use the charger that came with the gun so if the battery does indeed need charging i will have to wait until i can try that full auto goodness

Also is it a big job to remove the change lever to make it look more like a "proper"MP40???

Many Thanks

Yes, don't use the Chinese charger that came with it.

The battery you have - is it yellow and unbranded? If so it's not the best so a replacement from http://www.component-shop.co.uk/html/airsoft_etc_.html along with the charger at the foot of the page will sort you out.

I suspect the battery isn't fully charged.

As for removing the selector - some have done it and no doubt with give you the info...

Battery says INTELLECT 1400 on the smaller batteries inside the plastic sort of shrinkwrap

Its comon for the mags to mis feed, also when the bbs stop coming out ( empty) & you remove the mag you will get a few bbs falling out of the hop, this normal too, on semi they can do strange things too like getting more than 1 bb coming out on 1 shot or bbs just rolling out of the barrel every now & again, before firing make sure the hop adjuster is all the way off, (forward possition) adjust it so the bbs go straight, you can then leave it in this possition, if its been left in the fully on position this could cause feed probs, I just use mine on full auto & use the semi auto to park the piston before putting the gun away, just fire 2 shots with the mag out, this should leave the piston in the forward position & keep your spring good, but reliability is great comared to the £380 odd quid top mp40, also make sure you use good quality bbs, never use the car boot / corner shop types, most airsoft sites will stock somthing reasonable, one other thing with the mags, its worth pulling the top plastic part out a little & securing it with a few drops of super glue, this prevents it coming off in use, I have seen several just come off then springs fall our & small parts get lost, the mags aint the best quality in the world :(

I find that bostic is a better glue to use for the little plastic tops Taff, its a good tip from Steve, best get it done cos if it falls apart in the field the mags goosed as everything flies all over the place

Yup, you don't need to much glue, just enough to make them secure, I have seen several fall apart in the field

Guys, thanks for the advice and tips but not sure what part to glue

Tried one of the mags now with around 40 bbs in it on full auto and seemed to work well but left 4 unfired when i removed the mag but from what ive read this seems a common thing??

Being new to this game i need a charger and could do with maybe a speedloader and obviously loads of BBs

Any suggestions please where the best/most reasonable place for UK mail order please?

Many Thanks

Yup, the way the mag is designed when the follower is fully up you will always get a few stray ones in the hop, they can't get pushed any higher, so they just stay there, when you pull the mag out they fall out, this is normal, I have a few spare mags en route from RSOV so when they come ill put a pic where to put the glue, like I say u just need a few smal drops, this way you can still get the top off if need be with a small skrewdriver,

Steve.D

PS this charger is cheap & kicks ass, its idiot proof so I find it great

300/600mA Smart charger for race packs. its the 2nd one, set it to 300 mAh, & 7 cell, he also does batts,

They are spot on, people say u dont have to discahrge ni-mh batts but I do, for the mini batts charge on 300 mAh, takes about 5 hours for a 1400 mAh , on 600mAh they get quite hot, I would leave this setting for bigger batteries,

Never put WD40 inside mags, or in the hop unit or barrel, its fine for the outside of the mp40 though, it can zap the small plastic components & help destroy the hop rubber, silicone spray it the best bet but to much may coat the bbs which in turn will lube the hop rubber which aint a good idea

That component shop one has all the bits you need including various adaptors & things, its a 3 pin plug so you plug & go, just make sure its set to 7 cell, 300mAh, 600mAh will prob too much for mini batteries, if you decide to get bigger batteries for other guns in the future this charger will do them too, it will do 9.6v batteries as well & has a discharge facility,

Steve being new and a dumbass im confused as i think that you know the plug thingy that is on the battery itself that must plug into the charger-that there are different sizes of these.
Dont want the charger to arrive only to find the battery will not fit it

Think they do adapters for around a quid but not sure if i would need one?

Sorry for the dumb questions
