My Springer K98 is almost complete now. I can't source an original front sight anywhere (not even at Beltring!). If anyone has a de-ac or maybe even a Tanaka one, any chance you could measure it up, or send me some clear close up photos?

Cheers. It's the dimensions of the whole thing I need, including the sight base. Ie, diameter of the ring, length, size of groove for the sight blade, etc. It's a real pain in the arse I can't get hold of any in the UK or even on Ebay at the moment. If you know where I could source a complete real front sight assembly, I would be very grateful, as it would be much stronger and skirmishable than a scratch built one.

Unfortunately, 99% of the US sellers on Ebay won't ship to the UK out of fear of our stupid gun laws. Even though a sight, or say, a stock, are perfectly legal. It's only bolts, receivers and barrels that are illegal to ship. I think the sellers just don't want the hassle, which, unfortunately, gives ME loads of hassle!

mind letting us know where from? i'll probably be looking at a K98 build at some point in the future, and finding suppliers for parts that will ship here can be a pain...
A guy on Ebay.com. I'm not sure if he's a retailer but I will let you know. I've found that 90% of US sellers are happy to ship to the UK with little bits & bobs, as long as you check with them first.
