MP40s did not have a drum mag.

Lo caps are the best!

If you can't live with them, there are 150 mid caps available.

Mid caps are available from Fire Support at the moment. £35 for 5.

Drum mags on MP40's? A red dot sight might be an easier accessory - plenty for sale on market stalls. :slap:

the mp40 did not, and never will in reality use drum magazines, however, according to the book "infantry at war 1939-1945" part of the history of the world wars special series:
one of the complaints of the German
soldiers on the russian front was that the
soviets were using submachine-guns which
had 71-round drum magazines, while the
Germans were using weapons with 30-round
magazines. an interesting attempt to try
and even things up was a modification of
the MP-40 which changed the magazine
housing into a sliding assembly. Two stan-
dard 30-round magazines could be clipped
in and the assembly pulled over to one side
so that one magazine was lined up with
the bolt. After emptying this magazine, the
firer simply pushed the sliding assembly
across and brought the other magazine into
line.It was not particularly good,because
the all up weight of the machine gun now
rose to over 12lb, which is something of a
handful. it seems that very few were made.

I would love to see an airsoft version of that!

If you want to see the real steel, there's one in the IWM... The dual mags actually saw service as well but you can keep any Airsoft version - hi-caps suck.

If it is as part of a conversion of an MP-40 to a Suomi a PPSh, I can see a reason for it, otherwise as others have pointed out, there was no such mag for the real thing.

This thread about conversions really interests me..... What is the feasibility of fitting a pickelhaube spike on to an M42 helmet? I want to really intimidate other players with it.... or would a pair of cow horns be more effective?

LOOK! I ham now four meggle man!

I say go with the horns, but only if you're prepared to wear a ring through your nose and a bell around your neck. Otherwise it will just look farby.

It'd still be farby unless someone on the other side turned up with an airsoft captive bolt gun.
