Hi everyone,

Thought I should probably post up my M1 project to make a gbbr M1 from a WE M14. I used real parts where I could, which include the stock ferrule, upper and lower handguards, lower barrel band, buttplate, sling swivel and plate screws (which I'm still waiting on!). The buttstock and gas cylinder assembly are ICS.

It's powered by 12g CO2 cartridges using a Mancraft regulator hidden in the stock. This required the removal of the manometer and safety valve (which didn't work particularly well anyway, it leaked constantly).

Anyway, I wasn't particularly fastidious in taking pictures of the build but what I did take are below.

Cosmetic changes made to the receiver:

Cut down magazine with a new baseplate, tapped for a 90° pneumatic fitting and a 4mm airline:

And some more pictures...

Used the bottom of an ICS M1 magazine to cover up the mess of the internals :

Added a little bit of styrene to fill the gap (which was a result of a mistake on my part when fitting the trigger unit):

I will get some full pictures of the finished thing when the buttplate screws turn up and everything is fitted together.

Looking good, have you had it firing yet? and how does the ammo feed in?

Thanks Andy.

Yes it does indeed fire though I've had to order a low power nozzle for it (my chrono is busted but it's putting .32s straight through the bottom of a coke can...).

Loading is done via the top using a WE tube loader which I've cut down and capped off:

Holds 8 rounds. Measures about 90mm long which should fit inside the pockets of the M1923 cartridge belt (which I'm yet to buy). My thinking was half the pockets will be filled with these and the other half will hold the CO2 cartridges.

Oooh maybe. To be honest I was just going to get a repro from At The Front along with the doughboy pack and such.

And it's done...

Will be taking it to a range this weekend to put it through its paces before I attend the Bois Jacques game next month.

I've also decided to go with an Airborne loadout...

Cheers Andy :)

I ran 7 clips through it last night without issue before the CO2 bulb ran out, so that's a respectable 56 rounds.

Bit apprehensive about seeing what the FPs and the range are like though...
