I am thinking of possibly building a Gewehr 43 from scratch. The one question I have at the moment is what airsoft magazine is similar in shape and size which is readily avaiable to buy. Also any blueprints or sizes of stock, barrel etc would also be appreciated. Cheers, Tony

Tony,

The G-43 I have is based on the A&K SVD, using the mag innards fitted into G-43 RS mags.

It's only single shot - but I don't mind.

I think Jay (who built it) bought the repro woodwork from a guy in Poland.

Cheers for the info mate. My plan is to build the stock myself and fit a MP40 gearbox into it.

Don't know if you' have seen this thread on the American board mate?

http://ww2aa.proboards.com/index.cgi?bo ... hread=2378

There is a really nice one near the bottom of the page that was put together with a custom stock and and an M14 gearbox.

Suppose all the info you can get is handy with custom work.

AGM MP40 - AGM STG44 - CYMA Thompson M1A1 - WE P08 4 inch - Marushin M1 Carbine GBB - AGM Sten MkII

Thanks for the thread mate, some interesting ideas. My plan is to build the full rifle by hand, from stock to barrel using minimum tools and materials at hand so the dimensions of the stock and barrel are a must. Looking at the pics from the thread you sent me M14 mags might be ok, cheers.

The G43 would be the gun that makes me completely come over to the hun full time. Have these pics from the ww2 airsoft europe site. believe its a m14 conversion with modded midcap magazines.

May be next for me on the project list this one so may be picking brains when your a bit further on with the project.

Really nice looking gun. The M14 seems to be the way forward. Thanks, I will keep a look out.

seen these:

may be another option to save the cutting down of the midcaps.

Found the image of how these short mags sit it compared to M14 stock so it gives a idea how close they are to being almost spot on for size

Roll on tax rebate, new project imminent :happyclap:
