Nice! I wonder if it'll take a bayonet?

That depends on whether that would effect how the magazine fixes in the gun. On the GBB, the base plate clips onto the bottom of the gun, and the hooks go around the trigger guard. I'm *hoping* that Yith's idea will be doable, otherwise its a large chuck of something which holds 20 rounds (3-4 of which fall out of the gun when you drop the mag) I wish they'd work on a system which runs off the TM 30 round shotgun mags (2 of those fit in a cartridge belt) I had managed to do it with mine, but it was a bit fiddly.

Perhaps a third party manufacturer can produce a WW2 type trigger guard, lock bar rear sight and single slot gas plug? Jeez I need to get out more!

That is a piece of art and in the right calibre too. :happydance: Wont be cheap mind you.

Despite that temptation is growing, especially since i know how good the finish on their m14's are.

Price wise, they were thinking its going to be around the $360 mark, so about the same in £ after vat, import duty and shipping etc...We've already got them on back order at work so they'll be in stock soon as theyre ready :good:

No doubt the magazines will be expensive too. £360 is a lot of cash for what it is in my opinion.

I don't know, the build and finish quality on the G&G M14 is excellent, it feels like and weighs as much as (with the walnut stock) a real rifle, much nicer than the TM M14.

That said I still don't see how those mags will fit in a cratridge belt without cutting off the mag base but then you lose a major detail you want on an Garand, without it you may as well stick to the M14 conversions. Unless the Mag base actually comes off the mag...?

It would be a much better idea for the bottom plate to be hinged at the front, and for the plate to retain the 'internal' magazine in the position it needs to be. Open the plate, magazine drops out

Even having a fixed bottom plate with a small aperture for the mag to pass through would be possible if positive ejection of the mag is considered. Not being able to use a cartridge belt or bandolier would really make me think twice even if I had the spare cash for one, as already noted those big chunky mags aren't going to be cheap either. I shall continue to tweak my S&S M1 for for now and perhaps one day even fire it in "anger"!

I'm considering sticking with my Marushin one, at least the clips are properly sized for storage.

I rekon it would go in length and width ways, may struggle on the dept thats the only thing. The real en block is actually longer and wider than the base plate on an M1, if it's the same size as on the real thing, they should be ok.

Whilst I was harbouring dark thoughts concerning another Marushin M1 (I miss the one I had :( ) this would probably get the vote from me. Practicality wins and all that! (Though I may see how much I can scare a Marushin one up for and even if that's still possible, just for a laugh).

I just raid websites for the clips these days, I'm collected 9 so far, not enough though ;)

I am pretty sure G&G weapons are for the most part better quality then ICS. I have only heard good things about all of their current weaponry. I've heard a lot of guys say its one of the best brands out there in fact.

I can't speak about any other G&G guns but I have their M14 real walnut stock and the build quality is very good, fires far and true and I love it

Any news on the release date? Last I heard it was the last of August.

Why do you always carry that umbrella?
-Bad memory. Never could remember the password. Knew no Jerry would carry one. Had to prove I was an Englishman, you see.
