The chap had some bits lying around and knocked this carbine up for $20, even made the stock himself ![]()

That's pretty cool ![]()
sure is... very nice!
I do wonder how good the internals are though... that looks like a pretty crap springer to me!

I had much the same thought , still -cracking work .
I only noticed it because I have one of those shottys tucked away in the cupboard, they aren`t as bad as they look, fire about 280-300fps, the range is only a bit shorter than my mp40. Mine cost £20 over here. ![]()
Darn!
This mean's I've gotta get a Soviet kit and try to make one of these now!
That just looks so damn good!
Out of curiosity, anyone tried to make a PPSH at all?

The American WW2 Airsofter that made this rifle is in the process of making a PPsH
Theres a local guy (to Washington State) who has made a PPSH. He took a demilled one and welded the reciever back together, and popped in a gearbox. Im simplifying things, but thats basically what he did - its just a lot harder than it sounds.
You can see it in this photo:
The photo is about a year and a half old...so theres more stuff now (those are all airsoft).
How I envy the Americans! I wish we could convert de-acts to airsoft here in the UK, life would be SO much easier!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I hear ya Sgt.Heide!
So I'll need to source a stock (darn, I saw loads at War&Peace!) and a heat shield, procure a donor gun and custom make a drum mag... Sounds easy, no? ![]()
Well, the drum mag will be, I re-enforced and re-furnished a scratch built one for a team mate.
I`ve decided to have a crack at the 38 carbine, stripped my shotty this morning and made and glued the mag well parts on. I found a piece of 4x2 and marked out the stock, gonna have to make the shoulder stock part in two pieces and glue together though, as the wood isn`t deep enough.
I did think about knocking up a PPD38 using a wood stock holding a VZ61 with drum mag, but funds wouldn`t allow. If the chinese had a clone out of the Scorpion I may`ve gone ahead. As the pistol grip only holds the battery I could`ve oiked that off and wired one in the stock. The only downer is the VZ has the trigger group nearer the mag than the PPD so it may`ve looked a bit odd close up.
Good luck to ya!
Coincidence has it I just received a demilled M1938 Mosin Nagant Carbine in the mail ...and it's pretty damn sweet,
Probably will take it with me for a dress-to-impress re-enactment party next week ![]()

Good work! So just out of curiosity (as I'm not technically minded) how did you made out the stock?
Did you draw it free hand or are there print outs you can get to cut out and paste to the wood? If you'll excuse the dumb questions... ![]()
I`m trying to do it by eye, I`ve marked it but I haven`t cut it out yet though. You could print out a pic and then use the length measurement to scale everything else but I`m not that much of a perfectionist ![]()

That's me screwed then, I'm really anal about perfection
Just to clarify, when you said you'd make the stock in two parts, you meant a left and a right side, yes?
No, because the wood I`ve got isn`t deep enough I`ll have to add the lower piece where it goes against the shoulder.
I believe the chap who came up with the idea actually made the stock as you say in a left and right hand piece though. ![]()
i got one of these of buttler as well gota point out it says the fps on the box but is with .12......if you gona put the work in then yor better of spending £80 and getting a mauzen or m3...ooooh 3 shots!

Ain`t got the money mate, trying to save for D Day, thats why I`m tinkering with the critter I`ve got, it`ll give me some practice if nothing else. I did try it out before I stripped it and its got the range but a slower trajectory ![]()
Good work Slick.
I've "acquired" a donor Maruzen 870 (thank you Bodge-Ups), so now I've just gotta pick up some timber and attempt the stock! ![]()
Slow progress, but got some work done on the receiver and cobbled the initial lower stock shape up ![]()
