Well one is a rifle and the other is an SMG...

They're both good...

If you go for the enfield you'll end up doing more of a sniper role.

If you go for the thompson you're an assaulter.

Which do you want to be?

horses for courses mate. on asthetics i prefer the enfield. however there is a big price difference. plus different roles. Im building a springfield 1903 however I'll be buying a smg all the same because rifles wont always be needed. cqb games etc.

I've been there and done that (though I had a Tanaka Kar98k instead of a springfield). As said above, certain guns fullfil certain roles. Find the one that suits your style.
I didn't like sniping so I sold the Kar98 and kept my Thompson.

But why limit your choice to these two...how about a BREN or a STEN from Warren?

Why not start out with an AGM MP40 and A cheepsoft B/A Rifle? That way you can decide wich is the better role for you and then get the expensive kit later.

my thompson, ( i sold it this week)

had as much range as the airsoft enfield (with upgrades)

the main thing is , WILL YOU NEED/WANT full auto ?????

thats the only real performance differance with these airsoft guns

If your only gonna play ww2 events, a rifle will do,

if your going to use the weapon at open days (non ww2), you could really do with full auto and a high cap.

at ww2 games, you tend to get "better" quality of players. a enfield will do just fine, EXAMPLE HERE, at 6:55 to 7:05 minuites in to the video this fine fellow takes a one round hit , in fine form.

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?doc ... 3631244346

BUT OPEN DAYS ARE DIFFERENT

at open days, a lot of new, or even old time players tend to be "BB PROOF"
and with a bolt action such players tend to ignore 1 or 2 rounds, (some even ignore a 10-15 round burst)

only half a high cap will do for such people, so to avoid frustraition, get a thompson

hope this helps friend, and sorry if some of this is obvious, if youve done other airsoft b4, im sorry for sucking eggs.

i just assume your new to airsoft, thats all
