Hey all

been looking at assembling a garand from a m14 but the biggest problem and expense is the front gas block assembly. new from egun parts its around the $80 mark plus postage so probably

On the Wiki article for the Garand, they list the official tanker conversion as a T26 which never saw action, but there were several ordnance depots which built them unoficially and no one can be sure if they fired a shot in anger. There was also a Garand which was modified to take BAR mags apparently.

i know its a moot point but CIA does allow lookalike weapons, so in my opinion the tanker is more than allowable, and it is a VERY nice manageable skirmish weapon, it looks the part as well.

oh I know they allow look alikes but after going to the lengths to build 2 springfield 1903s AND make pistol grips for my tanaka m10 and buy the full jumpsuit etc a look alike just seems pointless hehe

seems the tankers a fuzzy area though so may give it a go. all it'll need is the rear top handguard and a band of metal to hold it around the m14 body and give the illusion theres a front handguard

thanks chaps :) most helpful as always
