Going to snag myself a chinese 1911 for using up close and have had the WELL one recommended as its basically a clone of the mauri one, and has full trades. Until a short while ago they only did a plastic version. Now theres a full metal one also. Being a bit of a gas newb and having only had NBB guns before how much difference will the metal make on the guns performance? ie gas usage etc.

On gut instinct I'd buy the metal one simply because it'd feel more real but if its performance is badly changed by the weight I'd be more inclined to go for the plastic one as at times its benificial to just use a pistol.

so whats your take on it chaps and chapesses?

all metal suffer in the cold, the gas stays liquid so it can be a problem , but in the warm weather full metal are fine, people cant believe the range on my kj works 1911 just with preditor gas and no upgrades.plus it feels and sounds right.

Well i am a TM lover, its a matter of which you like the feel off, plastic ones good but the top slide can come off with higher powered gas, depends on the make, but i use a metal mostly when i play 2ww games, its heavy and alot stronger and take most gases, its down to your choice really, they all perform good, its sometimes the mags on cheaper ones have problems with.

forgot about the metal absorbing the cold :) thanks for the memory jog. going to order the plastic one then as it'll be more reliable. plus the trades on it look better than those on the metal one

The 1911 TM clone is VERY nice! Slightly rougher finish than the TM but a good sidearm.

I bought a pair of the plastic Bell 1911's from RSOV and am very happy with them. Plus no problem with customs.
