Truth is you just wanted to make a big BA****D
I think I used a bit of stiff wire welding etc to connect the fire selector some how.
There is that 
it's surprisingly exciting ot fire this gun with the tripod at waist height 
I've set it to Auto fire, wired the trigger open and used a microswitch to operate it . I suppose I'll have ot put an isolator for a safety on it at some point .
