Anyone have a link for a download of plans for either of these guns? I'd love to do a machinegun for my next project (just to resist doing an FG42, PPSH or Sten!).

Useful site. With regards to the practicality of building one. Metal brake, Technoweld, shedload of Ally plate and a lot of time. Gearbox? Version 3 all the way.

I have some spare parts that i don't need if you're after 'em. Top cover (Yugo, steel, but the crest can be ground off), Shoei MG42 Bipod, Shoei MG42 cocking handle. Shoei Rear sight assembly.

Cheers, good link.

I'm severely tempted by those parts as well!

Regarding the MG34 Vs MG42 debate, the 34 will require a LOT of machining. Plus, the receiver is a damn sight smaller than the 42's, ergo, making it much more of a pain in the ass to actually fit the parts into.

To make a half-decent MG34 would require a lot more tooling. Most of the body of a 42 can be made with bent ally sheeting. Surface finish wise, matt black anodise the lot :)

Speaking of which, has anyone got any info/plans, parts manuals for the MG13?
