I am considering purchasing a Shootnsoot aeg after coming into some money :P. In the pictures, the guns look fantastic, however i would just like some information from people who have owned one.

I would just like to know things about performance, strength, is gear box easy to access, barrel/hop easy to do etc

I would realy appreciate any help

Which model?

I have a Sten MkV and its great... :)

Barrel is very short though so only about 250fps. But you can ask Warren to make the barrel longer and/or upgrade the gearbox if you like.

It strips down super easy.... Remove the pistol grip (1 screw). Remove the stock (two screws)... gearbox drops out the back. Remove the mag winder cover (no screws) and the barrel and winder mechanism will also drop out the back.

Hop is a pain to get to. You need a pointy thing to move it. But stays where it is so no need to worry there too much after you've set it.

Yep I have (for a short while longer) one of Warren Stens. Excellent gun , TM internals , get's attention where ever you go, from people who know them . He takes a while to make them coz he generally has lots of work on , but hey, they are hand crafted custom guns not cheapsofting thing .

also could someone tell if i am correct in thinking that the MKV is with the vertical front grip and MKV1 with the silencer?

Mk V is the "Airborne" variant with the foregrip. Mk VI is a silenced Mk V without a vertical foregrip, that instead has a canvas wrap around the suppressor to grab onto

It doesn't always hold true though. Some variants, like the Mk IIS were just a MkII with the suppressor fitted. Logically, the Mk VI should be named the Mk VS.

Gotta love the logic there!

When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

The sten in the film the eagle has landed is the Mk II, In the book it is the Mk II(S), the difference being the (S) denotes a silencer.

BTW The dennison is a 60's version rather than the wartime half zip version.
