SRC (Star Rainbow Company) (don't ask) have announced their new AEG.
Its an MP40 and here are the details:
AVAILABLE ON JULY 10,2009
â—8mm BALL BEARING GEARBOX (hopefully fires 6mm BBs and the 8mm is the bearing size for the gearbox ala Classic Army M249 etc)
â—RECOIL ACTION
â—STEEL STAMPING RECEIVER
â—MOSFET CIRCUIT INSTALLED
â—220 ROUNDS MAGAZINE
If its not BS, it sounds awesome!

Was originally announced way back last year. Now they've finally got around to putting a due date on it. Pity that the MP41 they announced at the same time seems to have disappeared ![]()
One thing though, being SRC, expect to have to do a bit of work inside it. I have yet to handle an SRC gun that doesnt need some work doing to it ![]()

Yes lets hope it isn't 8mm, and that it isn't totally useless inside as the AGMs are becoming harder to find.
It's 6mm bb's, not 8mm.

Well thats one less thing to worry about. Now, what about the price? ![]()
Price wise, I expect it to come in at considerably more expensive than the AGM MP40. Also, if my source is telling the truth (and he normally does) then it will take the usual Marui type barrels and Hop-up rubbers.

????? Why are the AGM's becoming harder to find?? I thought they were readily avaiable from most supliers.
I belive agm stopped production of the mp40 so that it could concentrate on producing the stg44 and the mg42.

No, they had the moulds confiscated and "destroyed" or rather held to ransom! in the run up to the olympics. I don't know if they actually got them back or not!?

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

They're back in stock at RSOV, whereas the ACM Thompson M1A1 is listed as discontinued, so i'm assuming they got one lot of moulds back, but not the other, at a guess.
whats worrying me is the "recoil action" ..... are the putting in a cheap gimick at the cost of doing a nice job?
also, how much "recoiling" will the (usually) cheap monkey metal take before it weakens it and it breaks?
The "recoil action" is just a blowback bolt cover and cocking handle. Been done on quite a few AEG's now. The vast majority of them use a clip that hooks round the back of the piston, apart from G&G that use an arguably more robust pneumatic system.
I have yet to handle/take apart an AEG with a blowback system that I haven't been able to disable.

yep, had it on my old cheapo SA80, they had a habit of the end of the hook breaking off and falling into the gear box... i desabled it the day i bought it.
