Happy New Year all

Have an stg44 on its way to me. Hopefully it will be downgraded to under 350fps but on the off chance it isn't......is the spring a normal aeg ? I've read reviews saying the spring is a shorter length, if so, any particular make recommended.

Also, the guide on converting mags to 100rd on the us forum has lost all its pics. Anyone know of another walk through ? Or done something along the lines of this - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gVzhKvVrNjE think I get the essence of it...but worried that he takes 8 mins to explain putting a tube in

Cheers, Ian

Hi Ian,
Happy new year. The stg 44 gearbox is a version 2, exactly the the same as any M4, even the hop unit is the same, (although it does have a strange little piece pinned to the top as a guide ) you will have to to take the g/box completely apart to fit another spring as it's not a "quick change " variety.
So any aeg spring will fit......just picking the right one is the guessing game! ( I have converted my stg's to quick change, just remove stock as in battery change, an there sits the removable spring guide).
The mag conversion is done with using mp7 100 rnd mags, (I'm going through this process very soon with mine) there's a bit of grinding off, and then packing out to to do, but remember to line up the pins, and make sure the feed collar sits properly on the hop unit before any permanent fixing is done!
Andy
