I've just been checking all my kit ready for the weekend and have come across an issue with one of my K98 mags. For some reason it will not fire and I cannot figure out why. Its not the gun as all my other mags work fine but with this one I just pull the trigger and 'click' - no gas released. The mag is holding gas fine and I can empty it manually. They all worked fine at husky and have not been used since, just stored with a little 134a in to keep the seals. Any ideas why its doing this?

Had the same problem myself once. There is a tiny spring which holds the striker up in place. Check it's still there. If it's not, good luck finding it. I was very lucky to find mine. It's also quite awkward to refit.-- attachment is not available --

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Thats it, can't believe I didn't spot that. :slap: Cheers. No sign of the spring though; time to go arumaging.

EDIT- found the bugger! just got to fit it back in now...

I had the same problem at the weekend, the little spring in a disposable gas lighter fits ! in case you have to do a field repair.

Just watch for the spring deforming, depending on the strength of the spring.

One of Che's mags suffered and it turned out the 'field replacement' spring had deformed - causing it to fail again.
