Does anyone here have a front end kit for their Thompson?

I'm interested in knowing if the new barrel and grip mount are one piece like the originals, and how they're fixed to the original receiver.

The replacement barrel is a straight swap for the M1A1 barrel and there's a grub screw in the same place to hold it on. Underneath, there's an ally mount that screws to the body as per the M1A1 and then two more screws and spacers that fix this to the barrel. The wooden foregrip has a screw up through the handle and into the ally mount.

I've dropped mine and managed to strip all the threads though so I would recommend using some thread lock when fitting. Being ally, the mount can also bend (yup - did this as well) however the ACM kits are pretty good although the Cutts is way too big. The AZR ones are sh&&e and to be avoided like the plague!

Thanks.

My intention would be to make the grip mount out of steel for strength.
Do the screws go into tapped holes in the underside of the barrel? Pics would be great, if possible.

WRT "the Cutts is way too big": How big is it? The original drawings I have show it as 2.5 inches (63.5mm) long with the widest part just under 1.2 inches (30.5mm) diameter (see the one in my conversion thread [link]http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8779[/link] ).

Thanks, I saw those in your other thread. Problem is there's a piece of wood in the way of what I'm interested in. ;)

I'll take some more pics tomorrow when I fix the foregrip.
