Update: The AGM Sten goes into production in about a week. A sample will be with us in the next few days and I'll let you know the score ASAP

Steve.
Looks like VIVA have been busy, you can order them by the wheelbarrow-full!
Seeing the sudden interest in a new product AGM mobilise the troops.
You see. I was right

bloody excellent. I'm very fond of AGM. Now bring on the MG42.
I've just found out from one of my sources that AGM have started production on their Sten. The bloke I spoke to said he expected to retail them for £200 - 250 when he gets them in. Seems a bit steep but I suppose he (and other retailers) will be cashing in on the Stens' popularity. Also found out that airsoft armoury will soon be doing some "specials" on WW2 guns as well.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Lets see........
I paid £170 for my AGM MP44 from Northern Militaria - and there's a damn sight more work involved in that (die casting aint cheap to setup!) than there is in a STEN. £250 quid for an AGM Sten would be taking the piss somewhat.
When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
you see..... thats what happens when you clammer for chinese aegs (the sten) at jap prices. it sends out the wrong message. i wonder how much they will be in other countries? arent we all sick of being a cash cow?
if it costs more than the mp44, that's really taking the piss...
Just because it costs more than an MP44 doesn't mean it costs UK supliers more to buy in. Bigger demand means bigger profit margins. the more people who manage to supply them means prices stay competative and should benefit you guys. It cerainly has when it comes to uniforms. SOF used to charge £200.00 for the same FJ Fliegerblouse they now sell for £70.00
The chap I spoke to is quite well known for having higher prices than some others, he's charging £130 for MP40's for example. If someone stocks the Sten at a sensible MP44 like price, they'll sell shedloads.

I would buy a sten - oh wait I have one, but would buy a different stock for it if they were available.
I love the T stock, but quite like a skeleton one as well
I saw the skeleton stocks being sold somewhere online for £40. If they were cheaper I might have got one but that is quite a lot of cash

does anyone know if the realsteel stocks will fit? if so i've got the plans, and can probably knock out repros for cheaper than £40 a pop.
sof sell the skeleton stocks.
The real steel ones don't quite fit, evo. They're very close though.
BTW, I wouldn't mind 2 stocks... one for my bfer and one for my viva.
i wonder how much they will be in other countries? arent we all sick of being a cash cow?
Classic example (though not WWII related), the new A&K M60 is selling for $280 in the USA, which is roughly £190, but UK retailers are pricing them at £350! Rip-off Britain, anyone?

Not if I get hold of them they won't
I have to say I find it ironic that a gun designed to be simple, quick and cheap to build, it being made of steel pipes, messy welds, chicken wire and good faith should turn into the most expensive ACM gun I've seen. £250 come on, that's more than I paid for my M249, I'm sorry but I'm just not going to pay that. I'll stick with the Thompson, (historical) accuracy be damned.
By the way Dog Green if you get any Mk43's for under £200 let me know
its all about runs lads,
if they were to build say 20,000 stens then they would be cheeper,
but if they are only doing 5,000 then they will be more expencive and i bet they arnt even doing 1000 guns,
lets face it WW2 guns will never sell as many as the sodding M4 etc, even if they were the same price,

Spot on!
It did surprise me that one of the price justifications for the Viva was that it's CNC machined. The original wasn't, it was mainly just bent and welded!
I'm still carrying on with building mine, as even though it'll probably end up costing more, it'll be built to original specs, externally at least, and due to the fact i'm so pig-headed and stubborn, i'll finish it even if Cyma started knocking 'em out at a fiver a piece.
Heh, I don't think the price for ANY toy gun is justified, they are all a bit of an extravagance!
The hop block that also holds barrel/handguard/body together is machined aluminium as it the motor cage/trigger assembly. Nothing immensely sophisticated but its not just a piping and a few screws either!
ye and whats the bets that it,l be a copy of the viva sten lol, now that would be soooo funny lol
as long as its not a copy of mine i dount give a fcuk ( as mine is the closes yet ) plug plug
