Guys, I'm planning on organising a small day game at F&O, Hey Wood, Huddersfield and wanted to give as much notice as possible.

Date will be 25th Apr and this will be a private game so cost will be £20.

My intention is for it to be a Milsim day, based around D Day +1. It won't be 100% historic other than it'll involve 82nd and 101st PIR and German infantry units (need advice from Axis players on which) and be based somewhere in the Normandy countryside. The scenario will be basic - each side will have overall objectives, but the day will be allowed to play out based on the commanders decisions. There will be no suppied food or down time at lunch - players will be expected to cater for themselves in game. Expect ammo limitations (especially for the Americans) and other, unknown 'buggeration factors' to hinder progress. Places will be limited and will depend on the number of Germans we can attract. I'd like a 2:1 (min) advantage for the Germans, so starting places will be 10 US, 20 German - the game needs to be tense and difficult for the PIR (just as it would have been), but interesting enough for the Germans not to walk all over them.

XVIII Corps members please register interest below - the game will only go ahead if I get enough confirmed players.

Bugger. Am working on both of those dates, otherwise I would have been there for sure. Got a new ATF jumpsuit I need to break in!

Dates aren't set in stone, they're just best guess at moment - it'll depend on numbers, so keep an eye on this thread.

Will do. :good: I badged up as 82nd, so this is right up my alley.

Hi mate. To be honest you could get away with any Heer, Waffen SS or Fallschirmjäger units. :good:

Ta, the scenario would be based around a single unit, so whats the best bet to ensure sufficient numbers?

Difficult question to answer, really - no one type has an overwhelming majority, and it will of course depend on who is available on the date and for the location. Possible suggestion - make it open to all Axis players, and get them to agree between themselves what units they can do. There's usually a good spirit of kit lend / lease amongst us all.

I may also be interested, as a German. Can do Heer, SS or FJ as needed. Heer is the most likely to be suitable for D-Day +1 against the Americans I believe. Although FJ may be an option too but I'm not sure when the 6FJR first went in to action in Normandy.

Cheers, I'll leave it at that for the time being then. It'll be no biggy if there is a mix, I just think it adds to the day if one unit is represented.

I should know the date tomorrow - so will be able to guage interest after that.

I may be wrong about Waffen SS being present in that area - can we pin down exactly which area we are talking about please ?

[edit] A friend has told me that no W-SS units were in the US sector on D+1. As Lardy has said, Heer would be the most likely troops.

As a friendly tip I'd worry more about getting 20 Germans of whatever flavour than about the uniforms.

The site is good ! To near honley for my liking though

I'm cancelling this as there isn't enough interest.

Hopefully I'll get chance to rearrange when I've more time on my hands.
