It'll come off easily... (2 bolts and a connector) It won't go back on easily though (need to take the receiver apart to hold a nut in place)

Yes.. a chinasoft M1A1 should suit your dad just fine. An MP40 would also do as a captured weapon... TM1911 is fine for brit or yank... You will ...
