Get a nice cup of tea and some biscuits,
Sit down on a comfy chair,
And put on your dvd player, computer, whatever and watch the classic,
'A bridge too far.'
That's the best place to start. :happyclap:

josh tends to have a fair few loan uniforms for these games, put yourself at the top of his list if you are lacking in any uniform.

You could try getting hold of 'It Never Snows In September' - Market Garden from the German perspective...

Really?
I thought it was one of the worst written books I have ever read on WW2. :?
I gave up on it.
Might be time to go back and try again?

It was an interesting read, to find out about the German side of the battle, it does get boring in some places but just had to keep reading.

It was the way it was written rather than what they wrote about.
The subject matter is pure gold for me but it was delivered with no enthusiasm or aplomb.
I thought the history of the 116th Windhund "From Normandy to the Ruhr", by Heinz Gunther Guderian was dull until I read 'it never snows'.
By the way, elements of 116th were involved in actions against the Market Garden operation.
There is some quality film footage of a D10 with 20mm mounted on the back. All the crew are wearing splinter zelts. 116th in Holland.

It is a quite confusing read at times, with the many ad-hoc and scratch kampfgruppe etc. I imagine it was quite a formidable task to research it all. Poacher is right though, the author doesn't demonstrate a huge amount of enthusiasm for the subject...

I have the four battleground books on the Market garden operation, which are very good and easy to follow.
but by far the best of all the books on the operation i have, are the two volumes of Market Garden, Then and Now

Would also like to know where this is being held. The date is very helpful for planning time off work, but not much use if it is up North and out of the question before it has started.
Cheers

Hi Craig

Let us know if you are going. If it is Eversley we can arrange for you to stay over the night before if that is helpful.
