I live these days vicariously... so far....
So where are the pictures?
it's been at least twenty four hours!!!!!!
Gadge has posted a few here...
This was my first WWII game since St Lo (2009!!!) - it was great to fight alongside old comrades like Ranj, Dean, Yith, Vladek, Chomley, Steiner etc and new faces (Owen & Peebs)
Had a fantastic weekend
I especially liked the simple medic and mobile HQ/Flag rules - which gave a very smooth game.
This is the first battle I've played in where the squads didn't disintegrate on first contact with the enemy
The squads remained coherent and fought with proper tactics even while taking casualties.
Storming the ridge by Nissen hut/ DZX on Saturday PM, and storming the AA gun on Sunday were highlights for me.
As were making our way from our dropzone through the enemy lines to the Brit HQ.
So thanks to Josh for the overall weekend.
Thanks again to Tash And Mark for excellent food and battery recharges etc
Special mention to Chomley for the amazing Polish id cards (top work)
Vladek for his cool leadership
And all other players for a very fine weekend's combat
I'm really looking forward to Patton now that the first elements of my GI kit arrived from SOF/EPIC over the weekend!

Excellent time as always; thanks to Josh and the COs and section leaders. A few teething problems with the new section rules with it apparent to Horsa No 1 section that both Brit and German sides hadn't grasped the "lone wolf" rules with us coming under offensive fire from A (singular) friendly force on Saturday and A (singular) not-so friendly on Sunday. Clash was up to the task both days.
Still fortunes of war means that she will always at some stage be blow to smithreens by a grenade from yours truly. I am out in the back garden tomorrow practising throwing with a small pack on.
The only thing that would improve the site for me would be taking a petrol strimmer to some of the roadie growths to put some tunnesl, mouseholes and paths in to eliminate a few areas that were choke points. They look like good routes on the map but you get there and realise you need machetes to get through!
Have to disagree here, no machetes are required all that's needed is a Sgt Heide in every section. Pete managed to get us through some Alice type labyrinths that must have led from one end of the site to the other. Magical, but bloody hard work! I know he tires of taking point but it certainly adds an extra dimension either in attack or evade for this "civvie".
Cheers
Charlie
I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.
Had a fantastic time for my first event.
I'll admit, I was worried for the first half of Saturday that I wasn't going to have a very good time. Zug 1 spent an awful long time sat at the fuel depot without seeing anyone, but when we saw some action I really got into it and the second half and Sunday really sold me on the entire weekend. I really got into the atmospherics of the whole thing, even patrols where nothing happened and we just walked in a circle back to our positions were as enjoyable as getting stuck into the combat (well, maybe not that much, but still really fun)
I liked keeping together as a squad, even if I did become cut off from my Zug twice I managed to form up with some FJs that were near by until I managed to find my way back to my zug.
I think I can safely say Owen, Peeb, Deinhardt and I will be back for another event. We might even try and be on the same team this time
nice to see high cap mp 44 and ppsh on full auto, apart from that great vids
Damn good weekend. Loved the ruleset- it seemed pretty damn solid to me. Can't wait for the next one. We'll definitely be back, with friends... :v
DEFEND ZE PROFESSOR!
Full auto with high caps aye! Best be careful chaps, if you have more than 100 rounds loaded you MUST be on single shot! If you have bagged up 100 rnds and playing in the spirit of the game then sorry for the ticking off.
Bloody awesome weekend and thanks to everyone for again supporting our games and yet again fielding over 100 in the field. Amazing result.
Hi light for me was finding codine and be able to join you all in the field (be it a bit late) still broken now though

It did get fairly desperate on that hilltop, IIRC FJR2 rolled up a few minutes later (when I was with Tim on the MG34) and saved us.

Yep they are like the 7th cavalry
Generally I think this was one of the best airsoft experiences I've had. I enjoyed the squad cohesion and the numbers made a more tactical approach work better.
Was good fun with the Doughboys and the assault on the AA gun on Sunday was top!
Fantastic Weekend. Despite our late arrival on Friday and fun with the unlocked gate, everyone was incredibly friendly. Would also say this weekend had some of the best elements of airsoft I've come across.
Highlights were definitely the recon patrol with Yith, Peeb and Panther on Saturday morning looking for ways through the line. Suitably tense sneaky stuff. The assault on the AA hill Sunday morning was incredibly memorable, as was watching Peeb (Pbc) take the Nissan hut with a pistol and knife after we'd done some intense crawling through the shrubbery. I'm happy to say that despite being in a hell of a fire fight at the end I was still alive at end-ex on Sunday.
Many thanks to the fellow polish guys. Special thanks to McVickers for lending me the trousers, really helped make the weekend. Finally to Kraut, who made the weekend very enjoyable throughout and I hope to catch up at future events.
P.s. Also Josh, for steady patience in the face of drawn out car packing
