Phase II
Phase 2 Historical or

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Merits to both , I think I prefer no 2, as no1 could develop into just a two hour battle to take one large building, which would get dull or be over quickly .
Are we having a big battle for the hotel in game 1 ?
The hotel is a sublot for everybody in gane one so wihtout relaising it they wil probably all converge on it
I thin the second ooption is a better game but i think its only fair to have both ready to play, it could go eiher way really.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Oh and battle one means the UK *have* to send out figithing patrols reguallry or they wont be able to hold it.
Urquhart (major) will order that he needs ths building cleared as the germnas are using for artillary observation etc.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
In fact i may add a subpl;ot 'silence the spotters' to option 1
this would mean that the germans use the radio tower as a artillary spoting position, until its cleared marshalls can wang pyro freely at uk forces!

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
I'm not sure about all this making sure people take specific routes... it seems a bit fake and impractical to me... getting it organised will be very hard!
Also... we can definately do better than keeping Urqhart in the basement! Thats where the jeep comes in !!!
Lines of march are both pracitcal and realistic.
Basically section leaders are told go here along this road o the map, otherwise you just end up with people trying to be 'clever' with massive flanking manouvres that wreck scenraios. its onbly for about 2 minutes til contact is made but ensures contact is made in the right place.
I put Major in the basement to minmalise th ammount of movement at speed he may have to make.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
I thought that lines of march was an excellent idea to force the plot. Organisationally it is very easy - you Brits seem obsessed by rank, make us of it!
Is the 'basement' of the hotel your special place Gadge?

No not the bit i fell inot!
Round the back of the embassy there is a room under the main building that looks like it coul dmake a good hiding place. I'm just keen to try and gert people gaming on bits of the site that *never* normally get used as there is no tactical reason to go there (shower block) for example.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Ah yes, the boiler room!
Several rooms round the corner of the shower block found use in the Turf Wars and UN weekenders.

Subplot idea - rescue DWRs from the hands of the Gestapo . Any DRS captured will be tortured to death within half an hour ( can be held for that time only) unless rescued .
A bit macabre but one for the back pocket.
Is anyone planning on getting to PU soon ? I still could do with a Recce and then can make sense more of the plot .
DRS DWR.... I assume you mean DRW?
heheh...
I would like to get to PU again soonish... I haven't thought about my airsofting schedule past LFU this sunday though.
I think I am free for the rest of the sundays in Feb though... erm... that may be just one though! lol.
First weekend is out for both me and Gadge... We have some training to go to!
Next PU is 18th - I will be at LFU. Next PU should be 4th March but I'm not clear if that is an open day as we have a weekender across the Saturday and Sunday. After that it's the 18th March.

Looks like the earliest I could get is 18th March.
I'll have to check my diary...
An additional subplot i'vw thought of to break up a potenitally long emabssy siege game will be UK forces having to sally out and raid radio sarevo as its bening used as an arty spotter postion by the germans.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Feck what is it between PU and IED?, the 18th is the 24 hour E&E which i wouldn't mss for anything and have already paid for
The 4th i have nothing planned .
Chomley , do you know them well enough to get us in one weekend morning for a look around and game discussion , say two hours tops?

I think the site is pretty much public access anyway whenits not PU,

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Sun 25th Feb is a car boot day so security will be lax, 4th March is OK as the site will be in use by Phoenix anyway (bring specs). As Gadge says, the main entrance is open for site occupiers (I think they are supposed to lock the barriers
)

Can we set a date to meet up then ? 25 is a go for me .
