As we seem to be operating from fixed positions for this one we have the chance to set up some decent defensive positions.

I was thinking of getting some plastic barbed wire, mine signage etc for our positions. Anyone else able to bring some goodies along?

If it isn't too hot I was going to wear my greatcoat! We are however grizzled veterans of the Ostfront unlike the upstarted new VG divisions, so I'm sure the odd smock wouldn't go amiss.

Cheers

As a grizzled veteran of the Ostfront, (albeit in a Luftwaffe Field Division....) I'd quite like to give my 'souvenir' PPSH a day out. It'll make a nice change from the boring old MP40.

I'll be mostly wearing a greatcoat for this event. I'll also bring the 'field kitchen' so we will be able to have easy brew ups and warm up nosh on demand as troops return to the rear. I'll not be supplying food or water though, just the facility!

Well, my experience of greatcoat wearing is that any temperature much above -10 centigrade is too hot :)

I shall however suffer for my art and the 'freezing cold December' look.

Watched 'Battleground' again the other day to get into the mood. Interesting how far apart they march, far more than 5m per man (unless it is a shot featuring our heroes having a chat).

Cheers

I'll bring a couple of Italian zelts to form a shelter, for HQ or otherwise. I have also got a single splinter zelt as well I can bung in for a zelt tent if required.
Got the Juwel stove and I might try a nice wartime german recipe for Saturday evening.

I have a spare splinter zelt too. I'll have some cord to string stuff up and I'll bring table & chairs. If I can I'll bring a blackboard & chalks as well as a counterpoint to the yankee's typewriter. :P
