bugger!
Good job we have a stationers in the village
Unit stores has, along with the Camo nets, a supply of coloured chalk. Large sticks too. What ever Jerry has the US Army has more and bigger. You can't hope to win. Why throw you life away fighting a war that is already lost?

Why? Because I've paid £30 to avoid doing the decorating for a weekend. I'm not even sure it is possible to be killed by being pummelled with a rubber stamp or ears nicked with a paper punch or fingers brutally trapped in a box file hinge. Meh, I'll take my chances.

P.S. Death by paper cuts would be in breach of the Geneva Convention, so don't even try it.

You know what they say, behind every gigantic military behemoth there is a engorged but smooth working bureaucracy. It is a thankless job but someone's got to do it.
It's not normal to find this behemoth in the front lines though. That is where the fighting is done, not the typing.

that would depend on how 'FUBARed' things have gone.
Not really, you would retire your admin elements to a safe distance or destroy their facilities and send them to fight.
In Bastogne these elements were in the town. The front lines never got much closer than a mile from the town.
Sorry for spamming your thread Jerry.

Oh, OK then - you need to have someone back at a HQ to organise things, receive phone calls from the front, make sure positions are covered and groups get a chance to move off the 'line' and have a rest/grub. Having 'admin' means that the role can be swapped around amongst several people and not just have the officer - who has actually paid for the game - constantly stood at the back under a tarp answering phones, but allows him some time to play on the front-lines too.
Happy know? The magic is all destroyed.
Not really, nothing wrong with field phones and working a CP like a CP.There is a major difference between a front line CP and an admin based HQ.
You are quite clear on what spoils an event for you, two tone guns, even if camo'd and face masks.
Turning a CP into an office is just as ruinous of the effect.

whats the plan for the 26th, are we staying in the front line in our own CP on Friday and Saturday night, and coming back to the main area for social. Or pitching in the main area using supplied tentage, or all doing our own thing?
sorry for so many questions im a bit of an organisational freak and like everything agreed and prepared so i know what im doing.

I sympathise with that entirely.
I'll let the camping members of the 26th reply, but personally I'm going to pitch up first thing on Saturday and wander around looking for the 26th camp. If it is anything like other airsoft events there will also be a lot of aimless 'hurry up and wait' in the briefing area as well, so plenty of opportunity for the division to form up. I think we'll be fairly obvious as we aren't either FJ or SS.
No camping for me for this one, my Autumn allowance has been used up by 'The Gothic Line' and that is much further to travel.
See you at the weekend.
Cheers

I concur Simon, I think CW is planning on staying at the main area but there was talk earlier in the planning stage of us camping near the lines, personally I dont mind either way as long as I know were to set up when I arrive as it will probably be early and I dont want to have to wait for a consensus.
Unfortunately we seem to have more Yanks on our thread at the moment than Germans so come on fellow stalwarts of the 26th what are we all planning?
Rather than hump stuff into the gaming zone I'll be pitching up the zelt in the camp near the safezone. I'm not sure sleeping at the HQ will make any difference to me in a 'being there' sense as we will have to be at the safezone for the start (safety brief etc) and at the end (bogs etc) anyway, so all suspension of disbelief shattered! Less trudging, less humping is my preference. If we were doing a 24 hour game and fighting through the night and doing stags and such then I'd take a different view. If it is pissing down I'll be sleeping in the car anyway! If anyone IS sleeping in the gaming zone then make sure they are kicked out of their tents on Sunday and have shooting specs on by game-on.
Don't let me sway anyone though, sleep where it tickles your fancy. (But not in my tent.)
OK Dave, that makes sense, I will follow suit, besides not so far to stager in the dark after the social
I have a pair of feild telephones if you want some communication rigged up from your HQ, also have some spare Zelts if required
sleep where it tickles your fancy. (But not in my tent.)
Vell it is very lonely on ze Western Front too

Field tefalones would be awesome, something extra to do and may save some trekking back to HQ with intel. Would hacking into the yank's phones be illegal?

I must admit the thought did occur to me but dismissed it as being bad form, now if we had been SS...
