I wonder how many people couldn't resist doing a 'Lou and Andy' when they found that room? I know we did on setup day!

Evo and I thought the site would be ideal for a 'sewers of Stalingrad' tunnel fighting eastern front game... gives a good scenario in which both sides can be on the offensive...

Now given the urination news it seems it would be ideal for a sewer fighting game ;)

That would be an excellent scenario, although we'd need a few flamethrowers to be more authentic.

AWESOME! Hats off to everyone at UCAP and our CiA leaders for another belting event - this is by far the most atmospheric venue and certainly gets the adrenalin pumping - and although I was an ickle bit nervous in the pitch black on more than one occasion, I promise I didn't wee anywhere !

Highlights - my first kill with a 1911 at fairly long range as a coal scuttle clad silhouette presented itself framed in the red lights on the way to the Mez - dunno who it was but the shouted 'Hit' with the added 'S' on the front was very gratifying!

Following Webby on our grenade decoy assault to draw the axis fire - he makes sneaky beaky look easy! (mind I nearly killed us both when a well intentioned grenade lob bounced off the tunnel roof and came straight back at us - Sorry Matt!)

Lowlights - being in a position to slot my first German general as he went past with a scientist, pulling the trigger on my trusted Tommy at short range and then discovering I was still on full auto - my profound apologies to you Andy and also to you Helga if you caught a couple of those too!

Towards the end of day defending the Lab? (with the buckets of glowing goo) for what seemed like ages with me at one door and Ranj at the other, waiting for reinforcements that never came and listening to some German marching song on a loop that nearly drove the pair of us bananas!

Saturday night in the tunnel - I now know where McCartney got his inspiration for the Frog Chorus, and was a little concerned as to whether sixty five year old concrete could withstand a prolonged assault from a snore weapon of such magnitude!

If it wasn't for the corner of the wall and that set of barrels I rekon Ed might have got blown up! hehe

All the heckling from Yith and Che further down the corridor "What was that Webby?".... to which I replied "that wasn't me...." then I lit a grenade and threw it to similar effect! At which point I withdrew to a dark corner again! hehe

My first death was when Yith and Carl were searching one of the offices for documents and Che and myself were guarding the entrance. There had been various exchanges of fire and I was pretty sure there were some Jerries just around the corner, so I was just considering grenading them when a stick grenade rolled up to my leg and exploded - and how loud were they in the tunnels?!!

Indeed they were damn loud, seemed to have shorter fuses too but that could be my imagination.

I got hit on the knee by a grenade from Kermit (rubbish throw  ) whilst waiting to mediced but didn't see which way it bounced so didn't know which way to run - turned out it was just behind me and blew up under my feet. I then walked back to the regen into a room full of brits just as another grenade came in through the door and exploded at my feet again! :slap:  I also had Yith roll a well placed BGF up to my feet twice during the day- I think my boots must be magnetic.

Yeah, when I was sneaking around I heard a few of Yith's BFG kills.... went something like... *CLUNK .... BANGGGG* "Hiiiit....Sannieeee" Whereas the difference between that and pyro you get "oh sh1t grenaaaaaaaaaaaaaade" *scuffling of feet* hehe

Yup... gotta love those BFG kills... I was amazed that I seemed to be the only person using them.

It's been a while since I've had a proper chance to use them. One was a bit slow to go off as the mechanism had become a bit stiff, but by the end of the day it was working much better.

I was going to bring both of mine, but I really wasn't down to do a lot of blowing up/shooting.

I was amazed at the honesty of players regarding grenade kills, which was very refreshing :good: . I remember throwing a couple of grenades into a room and then hearing Che and Carl saying words to the effect of "I didn't see it go off near us but it sounds like it would have got us" and then walk out with their hands up. I think I must have got Steiner in the same blast, it sounds like it from his previous post. Great sportsmanship!

The stick grenades were awesome and VERY well priced (which is why I bought so many!). I think I got more grenade kills than "shooty" kills.

I used mine a few timesduring the day , got a some good multi-person kills with it whilst defending the map room!

Its always a bit of a pain having to go and get them again afterwards, although some players are kind enough to bring them back to you after you've just killed them with it.

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
