How Was It?

I'll just make one constructive comment.

There was no need to formally split the day into separate battles. You could have segued quite nicely from one battle to the other by getting us to recce or patrol to the next jump off/defence point, whilst staying in contact with your other organisers. That way the suspension of disbelief wouldn't have just dropped off when we had to stop and decamp to another area.

Nothing major, just a way to make the day flow better.

Thanks to everyone for a brilliant game! Thanks to the organisers, the supporters and the players who all did a brilliant job and gave it their all all day, even when the monsoon started.

Headshots idea above is a good one as it means you can fall back, sort out your kit, re-arm etc so engagements separated by small stag/ recon patrols so the force can rotate who is in action, seem likely to work well.

Yes, I agree that the large proportion of rifles and the MG team made it seem very realistic. The MG team worked really well together, and the fact that it did run out of ammo felt most authentic - simulating changing of belts and barrels.

What i really want to know is .... did anyone else get bitten to hell by insects or was it just me?

My bites are just coming out now - all up my arms. How they managed to get up my sleeves, I don't know!

In Yorkshire we train our insects to know the enemy. Although I thought I had none, I know look at my arms and see that I in fact have a fair few. :(

I've found that the best way to avoid insect bites is to stand near to Stu, as the little buggers always seem to go after him! Got no bites myself but I do have dozens of nettle stings and bramble cuts :slap:.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

No bites, very few bramble cuts.

I kept my sleeves buttoned all day and have to thank Webby's HBTs for the lack of bramble cuts!

lol, what pete said is actually very true, i dont know how many times ive been bitten in the past and pete who for the most part is right next to me has never been bitten...maybe thats why headshot didnt get bitten!...
Maybe its the fact my flood is 99% proof?

anyways my eye has stopped swelling and i can see again!

I've been looking into devices ready for jedburgh and hopefully i wont get bitten but IF i get captured at jed can one of you lovely germans have some after bite relief in your shop? thank you :)

This is what you need Stu: http://www.off.com/

The only insect repellent that should have 'fuck' in the title.

The only insect repellent that should have 'feck' in the title.

lol, my mom's actually got a really cool zapper , it looks like a tennis racket and when you smack a bug with it it cracks and flashes as the poor unsuspecting bug gets fried.
so when you see a guy in the woods at jed running around followed by loud cracks its just me on a spree.

my missus just bought me the world supply of mozzy repellent anyways so i "should be good"....
