http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=014
i am a bit stuck on what jump smock to get as i would like to do late war/normandy look but dont have a massive budget, yet i dont want really cheap stuff, and would like a more worn look than crispy new look, any suggestions.
for trousers did the fj have any camo issue jump trousers or just the green ones.
boot wise i may just have to use my black DM,s for now, hope that should be o.k.
also i need help with field gear, what pattern belt and straps would i need and what other bits would i need. i have a mp40 so i need the pouches for them mags and i am making a g43 so i will get them pouches aswell.
any help much appreciated just need a shove in the right direction.
cheers

Watch out when buying a para helmet as there are some nice and not so nice one around that have the liner way too low/close to the shell rim and you end up with what looks like a top hat balancing on top of your head!!!
The one you have posted looks ok but i would forget it,buy one for half the price and age it yourself.
Have you seen the Band of Brothers para trs i have for sale?
Best of luck with sorting your kit out
As far as I know only the green jump trousers were issued, the DM`s should be fine. I wouldn`t pay extra for the worn look, do that yourself. The camo and green smocks were around in Normandy, belt and y straps were normally brown leather, you could also use a breadbag and waterbottle. Hope this helps
many thanks guys...
was the tan and water camo used at normandy or was that later?

Im not trying to put anyone off but i have bought from both companies and their items were a big pile of crap and a waste of money
Not saying that ALL their stuff is crap but i know i will NEVER deal with them again.
Again also beware of the stitch nazis when buying a para smock as apparently Luftwaffe splinter camo is slightly different from Army cammo which is wrong for a jump smock
Spearhead, type 2 or 3 splinter. join us.
Four Fallschirmjager at Wotan today, all in splinter and it look great.
First and Only Airsoft!!
Was that when the lights were on or off Major .......
cheers major, i bet that did look good, sounds like you all had a great day
i think i will get one from spearhead but not sure on sizes, im a 40 chest and a 5' 6" midget, do i go medium or small.

med tunic means a large smock....
First and Only Airsoft!!
As the war progressed and stocks depleted, more and more kit was used the same as army issue. black belts, gas mask cannisters as opposed to bags, blue luftwaffe trousers as well as green jump ones, luftwaffe helmets and infantry ones as well as M38 ones. splinter and water and tan jackets and green and splinter jump smocks.
Nip into a book shop and get the osprey GERMAN AIRBORNE FORCES book.
plenty of photos and prints of various kit being used. May give you a better idea of the kit and image you want to put together.

You see green smocks at all stages of the war.
By the end of the war FJR were issued the Field Div. camo jacket.
Side laced boots are mostly early, almost gone by mid war.
Sumphmuster and pea pattern helmet covers are fantasy. SS fjr tended to wear splinter b smocks.
Camo trousers were not issued unless you count the sand coloured desert style seen in warmer climes, italy too.

While not being a stitch counter myself i believe that thses Sturm made smocks are very very well made but have a few problems-The Splinter ones are the "wrong" camo/pattern-not 100% sure about their tan water smocks but a apparently nasty addition to both types is that they have a stonewash finish to them which isnt to everybodys tastes but hey it all depends what you want or how authentic you want it
