I've only seen a couple of pics of FJ using the 6 cell pouches, both were in the Fallschimjager book from Cyrus Lee. Although supposedly issued in pairs, both pics only show one being used - on the right hand side of the body - with the usual FJ issued Pistol on the left.
From a practical point of view, i *far* prefer them over the 3 cell angled pouches.
Andy, yup, those are the booties.

Thanks for the replies chaps - are the 6-mag pouches 'left and right' - i.e. different? (Just contemplating sharing a pair.)
Got a few interesting screenshots from a FJ DVD, but my image host seems to be down at the moment.

I Think the left has the mag ammo loader pouch as like the normal 'triple' pouches - my mag pouches are in a storage box somewhere lol
As for boots, I tend to wear German para ones, the lace loops are totally wrong but I`d rather be comfortable than wear a pair of Brit army cripplers
I found mine surprisingly comfortable on Sunday, however I now have n feeling in part of my right big toe. ![]()
Was your sock seam digging in your toe? I had the same in me lil pinky though didn't realise til I took my boots off on sunday.

Oh *you're* allowed to have feet and toes then....

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Of course I am allowed feet and toes, and I don't mind anything PAST LOOKING AT THE HORRIBLE THINGS, they should be clothed at all times and kept well away from me
yuck feet

It may have been as I can feel something like a phantom seam running across my toe where it goes numb. Its a really weird feeling & I keep inadvertantly pulling my sock up.

What weapon is that?

Note the G43 / K43.

Close up of kit

Looks a bit like SS camo ??

That is an FG42.
As for that photo of the LW officer in the SS camo...who knows.
That photo is taken at Cassino, my best guess is he either HG (notice Stahlhelm in background) or he got it off a Hermann Goring trooper.
Heres another shot:

That second photo is from the Bulge.

Hmm.... looking at the insignia I need. What background colour should my breast eagle be for my Fliegerbluse? I saw some Lufty ones which had green background.
And how common were the cloth paratrooper's badges, compared with the metal ones?
And what sort of shirt would an EM wear beneath the Fliegerbluse ?

Use of ss camo by heer/lufty and vice versa isnt unknown its just not common.
I've got pics of heer panzer crew in ss tunics.

Blue for the eagle backing, blue is a safe bet for any FJR kit, smocks everything.
Gerry the FJR vet who comes to shows and battles only ever had a cloth jump badge he says. He never got his tank destruction badges.
Shirt? That depends on where you are, tropical tan in the warmer climes, lufty blue fleck or even a grey one, late on, would all be correct.
