This style of cap with the buckle at the front seemed to be very popular with the Volkssturm. Anyone know what it is? (or more importantly if there is a repro one on the market?)-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

Could be. Although I can't find any examples of one, even on the militaria websites, other than these period photos.

Lots of Flak Hefer's caps tho.

The market for Hitler Youth re-enactment seems very slow -- attachment is not available --

I've seen it advertised somewhere as a Bavarian style Gebirgsjager cap.

I would go with G-burgers too, not sure on bavarian style, but I have seen burgers ones on WAF with buckles.

I don't think it's Gebirgsjager - they had a single button rather than a buckle.

If you really want any cap based on the M43 /gebergs style try www.GD43.com They will custom make you what you want in about 2 weeks. I've got M43s from many of the usual suppliers, RAU, SoF, ATF, Meeeester Hole, the Hong Kong chaps and these GD43 caps are top notch. I have a posh officer style one on order now.

No idea, the ones on WAF are originals

Go look on the WAF, theres posts and posts and posts about hats, of which some of them are burgers ones with a buckle. Not saying all had them by any stretch of the imagination, but there are examples out there of them.
