Not sure, but a few NCOs wore crushers.
I've got a Hauptmann one for sale....! ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
definitly the lowest rank for crusher caps were NCO's. Unterscharfurher and above in the SS. Looking to get one from anthony as I have one but its Recon (gold yellow)

KL thanks guys, yes it's for an ss impression i'm doing at the mo, just thinking about it...

For a CIA or PBI game you need to be an organiser mate.
They are the WWII game equivalent of a hi-vis tabard ![]()
Basically we use them to denote 'team leaders' in game and ask players not to wear them even if they come ranked as a colonel as it avoids the unfortunate situation of someone looking to you for direction/orders when you're not in possesion of the plan.
For the social wear one by all means but I think i speak for CiA as well as PBI when i say please dont wear them in game.
cheers

Same goes for KG-SS, only an appropriate Officer or assigned NCO can wear a Schirmütze
To be honest, I have both a Schirmutze (visor cap, for piss ups only) and an old style "crusher" but I prefer to wear an M43 peaked cap in game because it's more comfortable and easier to get a good shape. On the other hand, if it's for pre game socials, then go for it.
Crushers also ceased being issued before the war even began, so only the real old sweats would have them. I know they were very sought after by both NCO's (sergeant and above) and officers, as a kind of "been there" status symbol.
A repro crusher cap needs butchering inside to get it to crush down properly, as all of the ones I've seen are lined with the kind of stuffing they use in cheap sleeping bags. It's impossible to shape or shrink the cap without removing this stuff and the stiffener, andthat means chopping the lining open to remove them. Mine has a decent shape now but the inside is a bit of a mess because I took the scissors to it. I'll post up some pictures later on today.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Sounds Good

Just start a whole new trend in airsofting portraying a unit that noone else does
half tempted to airsoft in my Reichsbahn uniform as it means I can play wearing my crusher

But would you issue ticket's rather than shoot players with BB's?
Who cares it would be funny
could borrow Kai's baton and get spanking kills
